I am after a dashcam but quite new to the market and have a few questions you guys may help with
    I was wondering:
    1) Do most dashcam like this Uniden one have front + reer cameras?
    2) Can it continue recording when in parking mode?
    3) Do I need to install wires to attach it if there is a camera for the front and rear window?
    4) I see most have max 32gb memory support, so what happens when the memory runs out and is unable to record?
    Thanks!

You should read the eBay product page. Pretty sure all your answers are there as I got all the answers in about 15seconds.

    • It seems the two cameras are built into the unit, like a phone so no wires.
Not much good for reversing, maybe OK for watching babies.

      • Hi Thanks for the reply!
Yes, I did read the the ebay listing and it did mention it seems like it is front + interior, not really front and rear camera, as Atangk mentioned below. I wonder maybe other dashcam brands may have front + rear as two separate cameras, then again it may be difficult to install it.

Spend 30 seconds googling and you'll have your answer.

This is a dashcam not a reversing camera or a nanny camera.

How you could confuse them I don't know!

        • I'm pretty sure he is saying the rear facing camera is no good for seeing things to the rear of the vehicle i.e. rear end collisions. It is probably only capable of capturing events within the cabin of the car.

    • 1) do your google search for available models, not all dash cameras have built in interior rear facing camera like this, they are also avaialble separattely that mounts on the rear window recording out the back.
      2) there is parking mode but limited on the internal battery so it may not last long. Recommend to get a hard wiring kit that runs off the car battery and switches the camera off at a certain voltage to avoid running it completely flat
      3) No, it is built in, you can see both cameras in the photo.
      4) it overwrites the oldest file and records on a continous loop
      5) do a google search for more information on dash cameras

      • Thanks so much for your reply :)

I wonder if we can come up with a better name than Front + rear when this is really a Front + Interior camera. Front + Rear should really be reserved for actual dual lens cameras that capture outside the front and rear window panes…

      Does it really matter?

      • Yes. I’m on the look out for a dual (front + rear) dash cam, but every time I open the links it’s just something like this one which is front + interior view. Same with search links.

        • These types of cameras are not common, it's not hard to work out which cameras are what type by looking at the image. Surely you have a shortlist of cameras by now anyway, there are not that many worth buying with pretty much everything in this price range being rubbish.

          • @Maverick-au: I just bought a CVR1500 from Philips. It’s a totally different type of product and not really sold anywhere. Will test it out and see if it’s good because it could be better than all the other options.

        • Yes, same here! I'm doing a little research too and am looking at the Viofo A129 Duo brand-

          https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Viofo-A129-Duo-1080P-Car-Dash-Du…

          • @123bargain: These are good, I've used the A119 as backup cameras to our Thinkvision F770 cameras for a few years now. Only used when the ignition is on.

The A129 I've used for many weeks in Europe running 24/7 with parking mode on with zero problems.

I'm thinking about getting the A129 4K to replace the A119's in the cars as backup cameras but running all the time like the F770's.

The mini080x cameras I don't recommend, too many failures.

            • @Maverick-au: Thanks for the info!
Yes, the A129 4K seems very good but pricy!
There's also a deal for it on Ozbargain too:
              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/505441

              • @123bargain: That's the deal I'm thinking off… I was thinking about getting the Thinkware 4K but I'll wait until there is a really good deal that gets it down to $5-600.

The A129 4K is a really good price, not much more then the standard.

No infos About having iR for the interior so night time video would be dark

What do you think those four things are surrounding the internal lense?
