this or gl65 for $1080 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GL65-9SC-019AU-15-6n-FHD-120Hz-i…
I would go for gl65 for a slightly higher ram frequency.
for a slightly higher ram frequency.
Try and find a better reason than almost no performance gain.
2400mhz vs 2666mhz there is a clear performance gain with higher frequency in ram
I bought the GL65 2 mos ago then I got to see this ASUD in COSTCO. I'd say GL65 build quality is better since the specs are almost identical
Edit: I also read that i5 performs better than Ryzen 5 by a slight margin
gl65 looks to have some decent upgrades, slightly better processor, ram and cooling/ventilation system. Both 120hz panels seems to have terrible response time, is it still ok for casual gaming?
Yea it is a perfect entry level gaming laptop. Runs very smoothly so far like Dota at 90 to 100 fps. Also like the thin bezels for the screen as it lessens the weight of the laptop
I always get worried when i read 'IPS level' display. Does anyone have any links to any reviews that have more info on the display?
A review says this model has pulsing fans when gaming, which is extremely annoying. Great price though. Money saved can easily upgrade to 16GB dual channel ram. Regarding MSI GL65 it has a slimmer build than this, but is much less serviceable as opening up the bottom panel will destroy warranty seal. Pros and Cons.
I askes MSI support about self upgrade. They said warranty is not void if you send them pictures of the BIOS (?) and the specs before and after the upgrade
Strange that when I spoke to them they said they didn’t want customers playing with the internals because it was “delicate”.
Woud the specs on this laptop be suitable for flight simulator 2020?
Has been cheaper centrecom black friday $929, but cost of time machine pushes it over that! :)
Might be even cheaper Boxing Day sale
but then I need a time machine to go forwards, because I'm also impatient! :)
Then I’m not sure why you didn’t buy during Black Friday sale if impatient
@MuddyClear: yeh the only direction the price of these is going down. Few years ago gaming laptops were shit but AMD cpu options and nvidia 1000x series being cool a f changed everything. Holding out till boxing day is the call
@MuddyClear: Because I bought a 2 in 1 which suited my needs. But if I'd needed a gaming laptop with a balance of price to power, I'd have nabbed one.
Bought this$929 at Centre com Black Friday
Maybe can price match at jb hifi
Are you experiencing loud pulsing fan when gaming?
Slightly cheaper at Sydneytec ($959.20)Cancel that, Futu dropped their price.
