What Phone to Buy? Alternative to iPhone 8 Plus

I have a friend who has a broken 8 plus and he needs a cheap alternative and could spend upto 500 on a new phone. What android alternatives have similar specs for a quick snappy phone?

    I helped set up my Mum's new iPhone 11 today and noted how similar in use it is to my Xiaomi Mi 9T with Full screen Gesture Navigation enabled.
    Possibly that's due to Xiaomi's "iOS inspiration"?

    Fixing the screen will be cheaper. He also needs to understand how reliant he is to iMessage and FaceTime. It’s a deal breaker for many

    I agree with those suggesting to get the iPhone repaired at Apple. The 8 Plus is still a great phone and worth getting repaired.

      There a few used, but good condition, iPhone 8 Plus 64Gb advertised at just above the price bracket ($540 and $520) in my area.
