I purchased an eBay product (phone) for $809 and used $700 worth of gift cards. This was during the 12% cashback frenzy. I've read in comments from Shopback moderators that they accepted the use of gift cards. However, I've only received cashback for $109 worth ($13). I emailed the site and they responded with:
"Do inform the Cashback is rejected because of the payment using any type of voucher or eBay credit may result in your purchase being ineligible to earn cashback. Hence as a good gesture, we are trying to honour you. However we unable to honour you the amount of A$809.00. It is because the site has mentioned the Cashback is calculated Excludes taxes, fees or additional extras. Hence we can't calculate it with "additional extras". It must be the calculation for a final paid price."
I was wondering if this is the case or is the site meant to honour the full price I technically paid as they've themselves stated that gift cards are allowed to be used and cashback will still apply?
Where on the Shopback website does it say it includes giftcards?
Because I know with Cashrewards, it specifically says it excludes giftcards - i'd assume the same for shopback.
