  • There is literally zero information to be found on any of these models. They don't even have a website. Nobody has ever reviewed these.

Aiwa as a brand is long gone, was bought up by Sony, and they gave a license to someone else to use it.

Product support number is for Yale Prima, the same people for JVC so probably around the same quality.

Actually Aiwa do have a website, link to this product on that website is here: http://aiwa.com.au/product/50-uhd-led-tv/

And there are reviews for Aiwa TVs as well.

Note that Aiwa TVs have also been listed on ozbargain in past.

      • Weird. I googled it and it came up with nada.

Yeah I did some researching. Aiwa is still quite big internationally by the looks of it (Aiwa Japan). Maybe they are making a resurgence in the market by also selling through Amazon? Aiwa stuff has been sold at Target for a while from the looks of it.

          • @PhoenixAUS: Aiwa as a brand is now completely different from what it used to be though. I think they just let cheap manufacturers use the goodwill of the brand.

      • Aiwa have joined the long list of junk brands in the tv market.

They also have a FHD version 50 inch for $285 with a couple of good ratings.

Home brand TVs (e.g. The Good Guys had GVA brand a while ago Or Kogan) last pretty long - not all brands are rubbish per se. And, not everyone can spend $1000 on a TV anyway so there's definitely a strong market for less known but durable brands.

  • you get what you pay for, these companies who make TV panels produce sub par ones which end up in tvs like these, good if you want to use these as displays in a store or if you eyes are shot and dont give a crap about perfect picture quality despite the claims.

I got one of the cheap brand 50" FHD $250 ones and its still going strong a year later, colours stills trong and my son uses it for his PS4 without complaint

I have a descent Panasonic and Sony also and I would say the $250 set was excellent value for money - 2yr Oz Guarantee same as better brands - it met our needs perfectly

  • Lol I just bought 32R4 Hisense for not much cheaper yesterday at $250. Looks like i overpaid now.
