I didn't know this was a thing, so did the logical Google search:
    https://www.acsh.org/news/2016/02/04/lather-up-with-vitamin-…

Didn't get a good review, years ago.

    • Thought this would be a link showing the chlorine reduction efficiency isnt very good. It was actually just a really terrible article where I think they misinterpreted the product.

    • They didnt seem to cotton on to the idea that vitamin c neutralizes the chlorine and that provides the benefit for the skin. Instead they just mock the idea of vitamin c infused water running over your skin being beneficial (which it probably isnt in these concentrations)

  • Yeah you can get these for days off aliexpress for $10 not $153

    • Thank you for your feedback. There are 100 of shower filters at various prices but only a handful that meets Australian standards. In regards to the shower filter you are comparing prices to, is it wels rated and is it watermark? Going by the price mentioned, I assumed it's not - Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks

  • I have a bridge for sale if anyone is interested…

  • Generates up to 100 times more negative ions

Why yes, I do enjoy a caustic shower.

    • 100 times more than zero is ..

  • This some next level bs

    • Hello,

Shopping around is the best thing one can do, but do make sure you are comparing like for like. I can appreciate a shower filter may be the same to many. Like every bargain hunter, one has to do their homework to know if its a deal or not. What comparison have you made between the eBay link and this ad to establish its worth?

The products have been sold in Australia for years by many retailers and on TV.
You mention scam - what warrants this as a scam?

      Appreciate your feedback.

  • scam.
also downvote if you don't agree

  • My parents have one of these and while the Vitamin C thing is completely ridiculous, it's actually a great showerhead imo

    • Do you think it is worth $153.49?

      • +1

        Haha no, no I don't

  • Can you refill with snake oil?

  • +2

As a chemist I can't possibly let this scam be promoted. What does 100 times more negative ions even mean?? If you dissolve table salt in the water you create billions of negative ions, vitamin C when dry is basically a salt.

    • Does chlorine react with vitamin c? Legit question. I never thought it sounded like a sustainable way to neutralise chlorine in a flowing stream given imagined resources to produce vitamin C and question whether the vitamin c production process (catlyst?) Introduces other contaminants.

      • +1

The short answer is yes, ascorbic acid will neutralize chlorine ions in water. But not effectively in the minute concentration of chlorine found in tap water. If there was any serious level of chlorine in the water, the ascorbic acid filter would be used up immediately. See this source (https://www.fs.fed.us/t-d/pubs/html/05231301/05231301.html) the amount of ascorbic acid needed is 2.5 parts to 1 part chlorine in water.
The claim that it removes 99.99% of chlorine in water is true only because tap water already should legally contain less than 0.01% chlorine anyway.
Basically it works but for actually problematically chlorinated water.

    • Hello, thank you for your comment and the scientific explanation. Firstly, I am not sure what part of this is a scam. This product has been patented in various countries and has been tested. It also has Australian Watermark and is WELS rated. The product has been sold in Australia for many years.

100 times more negative ions are in comparison to other showerheads. I have never heard of anyone dissolving salt in their showers, but having a shower system that does that seems a better way.

Irrespective of the amount of chlorine in our water its the fact that it is present. This may be an individual preference but may like myself feel a difference after showering using a filter. My skin does not itch or dry up as much as it used to.

Are you saying there is no difference between filtered showers and direct town supply water?
Will one not feel the difference?
Will chlorine not affect or aggravate skin disorders?
Are vitamin c filter refills which provide aromatherapy not beneficial?

No scams promoted here, just a vitamin c shower that which meets Australian standards.

      • You keep mentioning that this product "… meets Australian standards…".
I assume that you refer to the WELS rating and the Australian Watermark (as those are the only items mentioned).

Most of the feedback on here refers to the concept of adding vitamin C to reduce the level of chlorine in the water. Is there any 'standard' or 'rating' that relates to this concept?

        • The product has been tested and results show it removes the chlorine. I know seeing is believing, please check out the link provided. Skip to 19:20 - Hope this clip answers your question.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHREC_cdy9Q

          • @4U2NV: So, there is no related Australian (or international) 'standard' or similar, in relation to the primary sales focus for this item?

            • @GG57: The testing was performed by Korea Testing & Research Institute. Standard Australian requirements are Watermark and WELS.

              • @4U2NV: Again, Watermark and WELS relate to plumbing products in general.

If those are the only standards that apply to this product, then prospective purchasers can surely compare this to other similarly accredited plumbing products.

This product seems expensive. OzB is a site for bargains.

                • @GG57: Have you compared the price of the same product? Sure you will find this is a good deal considering what comes in the package.

Feel free to price up the order with the following:
1X Aroma vitamin c shower head
1X Drill-free wall bracket (shower holder)
                  1X 1.5m flexible hose
                  1X Antibacterial ceramic balls
                  10X Microfilter
                  4X Vitamin C filter

                  • @4U2NV: And these are the components that are accredited and can be compared to alternate showers:
                    1X shower head
1X Drill-free wall bracket (shower holder)
                    1X 1.5m flexible hose

As a shower, it seems to be expensive

                    • @GG57: Have you found a shower filter less than the advertised price which meets the standard requirements in Australia? if so, how much is it?

Sure you agree, the material used to make the parts can differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. Well, you get what you pay for. Cheaper products may not have the approval and test results nor the after-sales support. This is a deal considering all that is including for the quality product.

                      • @4U2NV: Out of interest I had a look at Reece Plumbing. They have about 30 shower heads <$150. Each will have a different feature, or style, but they all have a standard water-use WELS star rating.

The cheapest is showing as around $20 and is 3-star rated (same as your product).

                        • @GG57: These are showers only, not a combination with a shower filter let alone vitamin c showers.

                          • @4U2NV: And that is my point.
Without any scientific backing to support the benefits of the 'vitamin C shower', what else can we compare with.
It certainly isn't the style of your product.

                            • @GG57: Compare with the following:
                              - The vitamin c filter removes the chlorine.
                              - The scent from the filters provides aromatherapy. Feel free to google benefits of aromatherapy.
                              - This shower system can be used with or without a filter.
                              - The patented watering plate on the showerhead can improve the pressure on most showers that are currently receiving an
                              average water pressure.
                              - The patented watering plate can reduce water consumption in most cases.

    Complete and utter BS.

    • Thank you for your point of view. Please elaborate what makes you believe this is BS? Thank you

  • Disclaimer: I dont own any of these type of products.

I think the main purpose of this product is to remove chlorine, which is one of the contaminants known to not be nice for our skin hair etc and its removal may provide the benefits listed. The key reviews you should be looking for are where someone has measured the reduction in chlorine (in vs out). The other lame specs is likely just bs to differentiate the product from the cheap ones and make more sales.

Most of the comments above have been pretty misguided imo

    • Hello, thank you for your comments.

You have hit the nail on the head, the main purpose is to remove/reduce chlorine while the aroma scent is just a nice addon. As a user, the scent can be relaxing. I appreciate it may not be the same for everyone.

In regards to the pricing. This showerhead has Watermark and is WELS rated / 8.0L per minute which differentiates this shower filter system from the many others. Also, the price do include a full set that includes the following:

      • 1X Aroma vitamin c shower head
      • 1X Drill-free wall bracket (shower holder)
      • 1X 1.5m flexible hose
      • 1X Antibacterial ceramic balls
      • 10X Microfilter
      • 4X Vitamin C filter

    OzScam.com.au is that a way >>>>>>>>>>>

    • Hello, thank you for your feedback. Just trying to understand why will you associate this with a scam?

  • False claims
