Just installed this weekend. Is powered on continuously (has parking mode) Definitely gets hot but the only thing that seems to be an issue is that the wifi connection to the phone app doesn't respond when its hot. Video's still works fine.
Also of note, it supports a 512 GB card (specs say up to 256)
Hey PTS, what mode do you use during parking mode? Does your unit turn off due to the heat if parked in full sun?
Been looking at this kit to replace my older A129 front only camera that is 1080P but runs at 60fps… anyone have any idea if the 30fps is ok for number plate recognition as I've found the older 1080P at times lacks the resolution to pick up the required details however I'm thinking 30fps might introduce blurring with moving subjects possibly?

Are the cables exactly the same as the A129 Duo? Wondering if I can just switch out the front and rear unit without having to pull out the wiring and redo it with the new kit.
Front unit is 4K but the rear unit is only 1080p. That said no idea if wiring is the same but if the standard one is also 1080p it wont be much diff.
Yeah I had a look at the user manual and the ports look identical so it might save some time when upgrading! Cheers.

Yes of course both will record at the same time at 4k/1080p front/rear.

Yes the non pro version is only 1080P.. however, the newer Pro version also supports better parking mode (buffered) if that's required however I believe you need to use the wiring kit to access this feature so it has power when your car is off and can record still if needed.

I feel like the Blackvue would be a better investment, and i've heard this unit gets pretty hot. Will be interesting to see how it goes in the peak of summer. A bit pricey still for me to jump in on this, but I do want a good hardwired front/rear dashcam.
Mind elaborating why you think BV > Viofo?
I just watched a YouTube review of the pro, and apparently the new front unit is heavier due to an internal fan. Presumably this will address overheating issues.
