AmEx Offer - Need to Manually Ask for Rebate

Hi everyone,

Recently I've been saving many Amex offers on my card (thanks to OzBargain), but for most of the time the rebate doesn't come automatically into my account and I have to ask the customer service to put it back on manually.

Is this usual as I've asked the Live Chat and they said the rebate should automatically comes into your account.

    For me, it was the NSW Opal offer in October as it wasn't set up correctly prior to the end of October

    All my saved Amex offers have been consistently and automatically tracked (with emails) and paid out in a timely manner.

      Same here. Purchased items in store (Harvey Norman, BP). By the time I've walked out and I'm in my car I have already received an email advising that my rebate has been tracked.

    it does take a few days and sometime I have seen ones take longer

    also are u using apple pay, got stung on that, amex for us didnt allow that!

      I've never had issues redeeming Amex offers with Google Pay bar the aforementioned NSW Opal offer

      • we use apply pay for.baby bunting offer and they knocked us back when we called about it

        they said terms and conditions said. no apple pay

  • I had the apple App Store offer of 50% back and Apple for some reason did a $1 pre auth one I downloaded a free app and it wiped out my 50% offer. Got the notification indicating I would get 50c back.

    The other issue is where I think I’ve paid sufficient to redeem an offer and then the goal posts change. For example spend $100 at woolworths and get $20 back. I spent $120 and then Woolworths removed an item without offering an alternative and processed $98. Then collecting the order I had to purchase a replacement item anyway. I only shopped there for the bonus and got nothing when in my mind I met the requirements with my initial order. They did this to me twice in the offer period.
