Just wondering where is the best and most affordable place to purchase Canon PowerShot SX1 IS? IS it perhaps better to purchase online or should I go into town and visit one of those camera shops?
I'm travelling overseas in a months time and would love a new semi compact camera rather than lugging my heavy as DSLR around.

I've had a play with it a few months ago for a while and thought it was quite fantastic with the handling and all. Of course, I am also open to suggestions of a similar camera but yeah. I just thought it was pretty good when I was playing with it.
I would consider looking at the latest PowerShot SX30 IS as an option. Otherwise the SX20 IS might be more to your liking and budget.
If the rumor the newest model SX40 IS is coming out some time middle of this month, then you can expect the SX20/SX30 IS to go down in price, as they will be more keen on discounting the SX30 leading up to the SX40 IS release (SX30 IS is close to a year old, whereas the the SX1 IS would at least be more than 2 years old).
Depending where you're going overseas, might even be better to buy it overseas on your trip, if the cost savings are there.
Might be a good idea to head into town given that you will be able to claim back GST on your purchase at the airport via the Tourist Refund Scheme assuming your total purchase is over $300, meaning you could buy accessories with it.
Any particular reason you want to go with the Canon PowerShot SX1 IS given that it's an older model, meaning it would also be hard to find online anyway?
