Vietnam Holiday (Cruise) Suggestions?

a very anglo saxon here, looking to go to Vietnam for a Cruise Holiday (through the scenery) for a couple weeks in February. Does anyone have any recommendations? Looking for a smaller size cruise, not the carnival / Caribbean type

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • Mate did Singapore to Honkers stopping in vung tua (and other countries) for a day Taxis are a rip every time you get off and take you to places 10x local prices.
I think the boats booze plan was $42 USD all you can drink bottom shelf.

I don't think there are boats what you want up and down the country but the train runs up the coast very scenic in places.

You could do Cambodia Siem reap to Vietnam I think SR to Phnom Pehn runs only in the wet season and PP to VN boarder is only 1/2 a day trip.
I used to see boats like this URL https://www.mekong-delta-tours.com/cruise/jayavarman-cruise-… moor in Kampong Cham the photo doesn't do these boats justice they really are beautiful

    • Like hawkeye says there isnt much of a cruise market travelling through Vietnam and you'll be disappointed to expect something like European Danube type because of geographic features of the country (only navigable waters only in the south and a bit of the north, no coastal cruise because the lack of port infrastructure catering almost exclusively for freight). Even the big cruuse that stop by have to dock in container terminals 2hr drive from major cities and you'll be ripped of by taxi driver. And you'll be missing out on the central coastal region like Hoi An or Hue which deserve its own itinerary.

  • Oh gosh! Motorboating in Vietnam sounds dangerous! Better stock up on your immunisations

    • Dengue fever is common but it's only meant to last a week for most

      • Yeah. Imagine getting it just on the lips !

Would be painful to eat banh mi and pho’s

      • +1

I'd be more worried about Vietnamese belly syndrome than that.
