Good Feeds in Penrith NSW 2750?

Interesting to know if anybody here is familiar with the food scene in Penrith NSW 2750?

What is surprisingly good here or surprisingly cheap and most important of all what is best to avoid.

I know the food court already just walking around now seeing if there are any lunch specials or just worthy mentionables in the area.

I know there is a hooters maybe somewhere near and a Krispy Kreme.

Any stand outs or buffets maybe in the area or just really good food.

It is important because some places are really hit and miss like the take away shop in Faulconbridge has good chips but terrible gravy and the corner roast in Katoomba has terrible everything but their potato bake is really good but everything else is dry or no taste or worse burnt.

So Penrith any good lookers?

Jamison Bakery in Henry street does acceptable banh mi.

Either Hi Pho or Pho Penrith were also good but i can't remember which. It's been 2 years since I worked there.

My mate lives there but he only ever goes to Panthers for a roast.

    • Would go to Panthers now but roast probably available at 11:30am it is breakfast only now at Maze Cafe.

Will have to check it out though some time.

  • Takeaway: Good cheap large burgers at Blaxland East takeaway. Standard toppings nothing fancy.
NEW restaurant: Emu Hall has very reasonable prices for good food and a nice view next to the river
Restaurant: El Jannah's on high st reasonable prices for small menu.
Lunch bakery: Vietnamese rolls in Blaxland, both bakeries are good value
Classy dinner: Mr Watkins Bar on High st - great atmosphere, delicious food, good for sharing not too cheap but definitely worth it

If you like craft beer: Mr Watkins / High st social / Rusty penny brewery (BYO Food, sometimes there's a food stall)

Hooters is not good value. Everyone goes there for the scantily clad waitresses and they factor in a price premium because of this. Avoid Spur and Outback Steakhouses nearby as well, they are very expensive.

I think Panthers Leagues Club has decent priced, quality meals if you go to the standard bistro up the ramp near the big pokie hall and not the fancy restaurants. You can whack a bucket of balls at Aqua Golf after.

High Street has quite a few nice places to eat. I can't actually name one that I've been to, but there are quite a few there.

Blaxland and Glenbrook town centres a few minutes drive away have a fair selection of cafes and restaurants.

I used to go to UWS Kingswood for one or two units, the chicken place on the Great Western Hwy was pretty good.

    • the chicken place on the Great Western Hwy was pretty good.

      CHICKEN MAN!

      • I was disappointed when the 'Large Pea' turned out to be a large container full of small peas, rather than one very large pea.

  • Try the variety of new cafes and restaurants at Tench Reserve. The Italian place was good but a bit pricey and told the Thai and Chinese are good-haven't tries them yet. The Coffee Club reopened there and plenty of parking behind all the eateries.

  • big daddys burger bar is the best value and best tasting

  • Product of Italy is good. Its a long walk from the Westfield food court, if that's where your talking about.
