Telstra Nokia Phone from Big W - Prepaid - does this mean I can just put my Vodafail SIM into the phone and go?

Big W have a phone for half price.

I am under a Vodafail corporate contract that someone else pays. I never see the bills, but I have to provide my own phone. I destroy or lose a phone about once a year, so I don't buy expensive ones.

Can I just take the existing Vodafail SIM card from my current phone and put it into this phone or do I have to go with Telstra or on some other contract? I know the question seems lame but I am pretty ignorant about phones and usually just have the people at the Vodafail shop sort it out for me every time I need a new phone.

Also, is there still a discount code roaming around for Big W?

Thanks!

As a prepaid phone it'll be locked to Telstra, so you'd need to pay to unlock it.
Also, Vodafone have a smallish 850MHz 3G network and they're metropolitan rather than regional, so if you're going bush, your coverage will be significantly reduced.
Vodafone and their resellers (like Crazy Johns) have a huge range of prepaid options and many are great value and would be much easier to do as you describe above.

  • Thanks. I'll give it a miss.

  • vodafail ? nice one dude, lol!
