Not the lowest price it's been but still a good deal.
I bought this about 5 months ago at a similar price and use it at work. I can have it on and play music or podcast at work and doesn't bother my colleagues as it's very quiet to others.
Also available at same price in Myers until 2/12/19 but cashback/shopback rate is better at amazon :)
happy to answer questions about this device as i've used it for a while now.

Shame that this doesn't connect to TV. These devices are perfect for watching TV.

I don't think it's suitable in modern open office.

    • Imo, it's suitable for open office setting where you work independently. If you don't want to wear earphone because you have to answer the phones and talk to your colleagues every now and then and not want to bother anyone with your music or podcast, it's probably good choice. People will only hear the music if they're right next to you.

I don't think it'll be good for watching TV as if you're sitting back on your couch with this thing on your shoulder, it'll be quite uncomfortable and probably slip off. The only time I use Soundwear is when I'm at work and when I'm vacuuming lol

I'm glad we don't work in the same office.

A pair of trekz would be much better for that situation. It's what I use anyways.

        • Yeah I considered Trekz at the time as well but wearing trekz will make you look less approachable and it's just unprofessional wearing on-ear earphones at work. With Soundwear, your colleagues won't even know you're listening to something. Downside is I gotta say it's ugly having it on your shoulder.

          • @[Deactivated]: It's unprofessional to have earphones that don't block other sounds with the bonus or not forcing your sound onto to other people?
But it's not unprofessional to have this thing around your neck making noise?

            That's definitely some interesting logic.

            • @lawrst: Are you not reading what I'm saying? It's inaudible to others in the office unless you're sitting side by side like in classroom

              Mod: Removed inflammatory statement.

@[Deactivated]: Modern office these days do sits like in a classroom. Perhaps op office is not modern?

By modern I mean it's agile. It's a hot seat and small desk.

According to this review it says it may work in office https://au.pcmag.com/speakers/50590/bose-soundwear-companion

Some says though that the volume can go loud even at 50% is too loud. Hard to imagine a comfortable volume that is loud enough in the office.

Anyway it works for op, good on you.

            @[Deactivated]: Eh? Unprofessional?

I mean, I work in a very 'corporate' client facing role and literally everyone wears headphones/earphones these days and it's certainly not viewed as unprofessional

@Kingfield: Agreed, I work in corporate office too, and 1 in 3 wears headphone.

These devices are perfect for watching TV.

This one is designed to connect to a TV. It also supports aptX-LL low-latency audio to maintain audio/video sync. The included transmitter accepts analog and optical signals.

      • Actually a few of my colleagues bought JBL Soundgear after they saw mine (Bose one was over $400 at the time) and I've tried them on as well but they're quite heavier and less flexible.

Sure. But I was talking about using them for watching TV. :)

      • Thanks will consider it

  • Interesting concept.
I guess listening to music would be ok but I don’t know how productive listening to podcasts at work would be.

  • I see a use for these wearables for TV, particularly if you do not want to disturb others later at night or are hard of hearing.

I'm just a regular listener of music etc, so not in any way knowledgeable about sound in any way, but
The BOSE sunglasses have good sound (to me) and definitely would not disturb anyone else, though, might not work for a computer screen or in house.
They are also a fashion statement in themselves…

You'd certainly want to remove the dark lenses if you want to use them with a computer screen or TV. :)

The in-store demo I tried sounded surprisingly good for what they are.
