Will Amazon Honour This Deal?

I searched amazon.com.au today for "3700X" and the first result was "AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor 1"

But after clicking the link it looks like it's just for an MSI X570 motherboard

I contacted the amazon live chat before and after ordering to triple check that both the CPU and motherboard will be sent, the chat rep told me he had contacted the marketing team and can confirm the delivery will include both items.

The two items separately come to nearly $1000, and the price on the item description is only $394.20 AUD

See the item page here:

Do you reckon Amazon will honour this? Will both the CPU and motherboard arrive?

Edit: correct my dodgy maths!

Dunno but I'm tempted to buy it even though I don't want or need it.

Do you realise you can ask questions directly on the product page? Your question has already been asked there.

    • Yeah I saw the answers, but some answers say that only the motherboard is included and some say that both CPU and motherboard are included so who knows which is correct

  • No it is just the mobo. Amazon just had to pay to ship one to Australia and back because of their back listing.

  • CPU $557 + Mobo $394.

    So?

They didn't when there was a 2TB drive with 10TB title and description. Shipped it all the way here from USA then back and got a free refund. Tempted to try again and see if get lucky.

    Edit: Confirmed motherboard only! https://i.imgur.com/YisbEK2.png

  • The picture clearly shows only the motherboard.

  • I've seen this item before. On livechat I was told it was a mistake and that I would only receive the motherboard.

  • So there is obviously a mistake in the listing, but it appears it has been like that for at least a week. Amazon has been made aware of the mistake, and presumably the seller has as well.

At what point does it basically become a bait and switch where they know it is wrong and are just hoping you will keep it when you get it?

    • The seller is Amazon in this case.

  • You can probably kick up a fuss when/if the order comes without one of the pieces expected and maybe get a $100 voucher? As long as you mention in the complaint that you asked amazon BEFORE you ordered and they CONFIRMED that you get both and then complain that this has caused emotion pain/miscarriage etc. Little bit scummy but hey free gift voucher?
