Acer Spin1 for $286 @ HN Seconds

Does anyone have one of these and are they a suitable replacement for an iPad mini (about 5 yrs old, not much memory and hand me down!) is this a good price?

Pentium CPU, only 4Gb RAM and only 64Gb SSD.

Despite that, Amazon reviews are fairly positive.
Only major downside is that it struggled streaming HBO Now.

Depends what you want to do with it as to whether it's a good iPad replacement.

check which model is it , 1 with N3350 dual core cpu , other other one N4200 quad core cpu

the quad core model is $397 new from HN , so you're saving $111 for going Seconds/Used

what's the warranty period for Seconds ?

Make sure the screen has good viewing angles for how you want to use it. The older Acer 2-in-1 that I am using has the worst viewing angles I've ever experienced. It's useless in every position other than normal laptop.

    • Thanks didn't think of that -will check it out.

  • We get kid's hand me downs and I shouted myself a new iPad mini last year and passed on old one. However Hubby whinges all the time as he's mostly a Windows user and after doing last upgrade (and using Chrome (which seems to crash all the time for him) rather than Safari, I just stick my fingers in my ears and go Lalalala when it crashes. He mostly uses it in bed to check mail, update forum and tapatalk and 500+ apps that I'm sure he never uses!! (Maybe slight exaggeration!) His main computer is a desktop that he stores most of his stuff on, so this would be used for travel etc.
Thanks for the input so far and I honestly think the newer one might be way to go.
I will go check it out with him in next few days.

A second hand MacBook Air might be a slightly more expensive, but worthwhile upgrade.
You shouldn’t have to spend more than $500 to get something that will take you where you want to go.
