I know that buying a full retail product is a big no no in the ozbargain bible.But i remember purchasing a 32 gb ipod touch 4g when it first came out for $379 cause i wanted it so bad.

    Yeah, I used to buy postage stamps at full retail price, couldn't wait for them to go on sale. :)

    excluding apple products, there is a huge difference between paying "full price" and the lowest price at release.

    For example you might find a new game for $100 at EB, but $80 at Big W.

    I payed $900 for the first playstation the day it was released I must have been excited it ended up in the bin about 5 years later. It was pretty ground breaking at the time though we were still playing ports of call on the comodore 64 at the time then there was the nintendo 64 I bought that the day it was released that was the biggest load of s#@& I ever bought since those I never pay retail or buy so soon to realease date

      Yeah I remember that…back then Ridge Racer was the bomb! First ever 3d game to have come out so it was massively ground breaking!

    Paid full RRP of $4.10 for Myer shares at the IPO. Today it is worth $2.30 - All Jen Hawkin's fault :-)

    I used to buy games from EBgames because I thought Steam + DRM was evil.

    Well, not any more, I now buy most of my games from Weekend sales and online CD key shops. Haven't stepped inside of a GAME or Ebgame retail store in over 3 years now.

    I mostly buy my printer cartridges at retail price. When ever I need them, they are not on sale (from previous month to the next month) and I have to buy it from BigW or Post shop at the retail price.
