After 166 years, Dimmeys is shutting its doors
Dimmeys collapsed in 2014 following a series of product safety breaches and was sold to Cool Breeze Clothing.
I bet the fines were just the nail in the coffin. Stuff like selling flammable / improperly labelled kids PJs is beyond not ok though.
Still very sad especially for the country town ones.

Everytime I drive past one it's like their window displays haven't been cleaned in 166 years and usually with cracked glass that's been stickytaped
They had 40% off 2 weeks ago, surely they'd have to at least match that to get rid of their products from the 70's

I found a Club lock in their Goulburn store circa 2018 which had faded packaging which was CLEARLY dated to the late 1980s It cited some award from the NRMA for 1987-88 on it, as well as having 7 digit phone numbers on the box. They still had the gall to charge $20 for it.
and yet Autobarn are selling knock-offs ranging from $26 to $65:
