Great deal! Though it's not like Apple to run promos like, wonder why they're doing it. No complaints though.

Pretty sure they run this same promo every year in the lead up to and over the Black Friday sales.

What about adding iTunes gift card?

    • +2

Keen to know this as well, seeing as the Coles 20% is coming up.

    • +2

You can’t use gift card credit to add funds to your Apple ID. It only deducts the payment from a credit card.

      • Wasn't me on the neg, but i think that's wrong? I thought you have to add the gift card to your Apple ID as funds first prior to being able to use it to purchase stuff on iTunes?

        • Yeah, you do. You’re right. But you can’t use the credit from a gift card bought at Coles (for example) to get a bonus 15% through this. Thought that’s what the question was asking, but it was vague.

          • @ihavecentsnotsense: yeah that's what we meant i guess. adding funds to apple id via gift cards and getting the 15% bonus.

yeah righto. thought that might be the case. would be too good to be true.

edit: got rid of that neg for ya.

I can confirm that redeeming a gift card bought from Coles does not have the 15% discount. I just redeemed a $100 Itune card, and got exactly $100 top up.
In that it is not so exciting as we frequently got the 15% off. I just wait for the 20% discount …

      • good to know, thanks! also, i just had a look at the options on my phone. If you want to add fund via a gift card, its redeeming a gift card as seniordoc mentioned above, so the information regarding getting 15% bonus will not come up. It will only come up when you choose add funds.

Thanks, just used the Amex offer and got $23 of credit for $10.

    • Same. Works a treat and great way to use it!

    • Is this an offer that you have to save on your Amex Card? Can't see it on my Amex Essential card.

      • It's a targeted offer.

      • +1

Yes but it came out a couple of weeks ago so the enrolments might have all filled up by now.

    • How please tell.

    Thanks OP

Was this offer sent via email?

EDIT: found the answer. It appears after you press the Add funds to your Apple ID button

  • targeted?

    • The Amex statement credit is targeted, the bonus 15% from Apple isn’t.

  • Sorry, noob here. Don't own an Apple device. Can the Apple ID funds be used to pay for Apple TV+?

    • +1

      Yes.

      • Thanks, do the credits expire? No support for Android TV or apps yet for Apple TV+ :(

        • +2

No, credit added to your Apple ID or iTunes account doesn’t expire.

  • Got two rebate emails of $10 from Amex. Winning!

    • +1

No, that is because a $1 charge made by Apple when you added a card. That charge will show as pending, and it will drop out in few days.

  • +2

So if we have the amex offer add $20 to account, get $10 back and $3 credit?

    • -1

Yes, everyone is making it seem like that you top up $10 and you get $23

    • That’s right.

  • -1

    Should mention 100-200 condition

  • +1

Thanks OP, now I can buy some vanity.

  • +1

Thanks OP! May be worth to mention it’s 1 per account?

Once funds are added can it be withdrawn back to my bank account?

    • Hmm getting badly negged here. Guess the answer is no! This was a genuine question as I am new to Apple

      • I didn’t neg you but I am curious why you asked: is funds withdrawal something that’s possible with, say a Google Play Store account or the Microsoft / Amazon / Nintendo / PlayStation equivalents?

The question just never occurred to me.

I guess I could always do my own research but was hoping for a quick answer here: No

Can i use this credit to pay for disney plus subscription when it releases next week?

    • Yes, you can, if Disney+ allows in-app subscription. I think I read somewhere that they will.

  • offer closes 12/12/19

Can't enrol on the page because the Submit button is missing??

  • I'd love to make use of this but … Anyone care to guess why the following happens to me:

    • I have funds in my Apple ID (I can see I have a positive Apple ID balance)
    • this Apple ID is what is being used for Purchase Sharing in Family Sharing (I'm the Family Organiser)
    • my wife purchased iCloud storage via Family Sharing but the monthly charges are being charged to the credit card associated with my Apple ID and NOT to the funds available to my Apple ID?
    • +1

I was wondering the same so finally did some research. Apparently standard procedure is all family members default to stored credit card and any gift card is used against the person who added it. So to benefit you need to get your wife to add funds.

      • Yep makes sense - it gets even more strange - I couldn't purchase iCloud storage (the family amount - 200G/1TB) on my device for us all to use - so in the end I had to do it on my wife's device in her account - it gets charged to my credit card in my account and the storage is available to all in the family
