    • Pair it with the type cover and it's quite usable albeit on the slow/tiny side, but hey free's free :)

      • Perfect! I saw some good prices on catch which I plan to buy one from for him.

Exactly! Can't complain when only spend $8 for it!

  • These are starting to get awkwardly cheap. So going to end up buying one in my sleep if I'm not careful!!!

I remember the Surface RT 2 (not surface RT 1
… that was vile) was a joy to use as long as you realised it was an on the go device for browsing, movies/TV, emails and office suite.

MSFT should bundle a single Office 2016 licence pre-installed with with this bad boy. They'd sell 8billion.

    • I also bought SurfaceRT2 thinking it would be great for light browsing using a full desktop browser and windows 8 tablet mode. It was way to confusing and too limited with crappy store apps. Eventually the store access ended along with any use for this device. If you could get the latest Edge (chromium) browser on it the story would be different. This is why I went with the Surface 3 tablet/keyboard offer. Very similar to the Surface Go usage but at a price point I can live with. Definitely not worth buying the Surface Go 4GB, but the 8GB at this price point would be a different story.

    • I still use my RT1 sometimes. Running Windows 8.0 with the jailbreak to run desktop apps.

      • Is that insanely slow?

        • The system it's self has always been slow (typing in Word 2013 sometimes doesn't keep up with my input) but the jailbreak apps are actually pretty fast.

Notepad++ is much faster than wordpad for example.

  • Would anyone know if I can use the Amex $100 offer when buying from ebay?

    • Thinking about if for the wife. Just Pinterest and face book. Microsoft store has it for $399, so adding the keyboard will jump the price over $500 for the AMEX offer. I would be surprised if the AMEX offer worked via eBay.

    • No. Wrong url.
