I smell bs,doubt they will legit give away a $28k holiday. Does anyone follow this stiff up ever to see if they fo indeed award a prize, genuinely?

They have a license. The authorities audit a certain number of cases each year; presumably the more high-profile the competition the more likely they are to audit it. It would be a big gamble for them to not award the prize judiciously.
There's no guarantees but chances are this competition is legit.
For what it's worth, the markups on safari lodges are pretty high, so while the retail price is around $28,000, their cost price is probably a lot less.
