I really used to think that Domino's was good value, and comparatively (like for like) with other places like Pizza Hut and such, maybe it likely well is, but when I compare the topping, the amount of topping, the thickness of the topping, and just the general weight of the pizza (without taking an actual weight measurement) compared to my local pizza bar, I really began to wonder about the actual value of Domino's. Maybe it's just my local Domino's doesn't put much onto their pizza's but at least the last dozen times that I'd ordered Domino's the pizza would come with literally just bare patches of dough, that was either a mixture of just tomato paste and dough, or tomato paste, cheese, and dough. This was even after Domino's introduced their so-called 'Dom' pizza tracker. I'm having a whinge here, first world problems and all that, but in reality, I think for a lot of folks it might be worth checking out your local pizza bar to see what they offer. I'd be happy to buy Domino's again if they could consistently make a pizza that had toppings covering the whole pizza but they just don't seem to be able to?

Edit: having said all of that, I'm not trying to be narky to snookerbro. Welcome to OzBargain, most folks around here are pretty friendly, though often tongue in cheek about many a topic :) For Domino's this is a reasonable deal I think.

My local pizza place charges $25 for just one pizza, yes it has more toppings but I could feed the family for that price at Domino's. My local Domino's is great and puts on a decent amount of toppings, possibly yours is a bit slack?

Yeah I totally see where you’re coming from there, if the alternative is expensive and Domino’s is doing a good job then why would you not choose them. I think it must be that my Domino’s is yeah either slack, or they just don’t have the right staff on?

          • @capslock janitor: Yeah lately I’ve just avoided Dominos to be honest. Maybe later on I’ll give em another try but for now I’m just steering clear.

My current Domino's does a great job with toppings and cheese. Previous one was so bland and lacked any toppings. It varies wildly across stores.

Man, see that’s annoying because our local really does a lousy job. Or, maybe they just don’t like me?

Very rarely have Dominos these days. After the last time they shrunk the pizzas, the value isn't as good. Used to live in a area where no other pizza options other than Dominos, ozbargain was always handy then. But where I am now my locals now are quite good value and a lot of competition keeping the price down.

Granted, the last time they had 50% off, I grabbed a few pizzas for the family and was happy with the quality and amount of toppings.

      Appreciate the welcome :)

I mean that’s why the Domino’s vouchers are always a good back up, and realistically it’s a fair tuck for $36. You’re welcome :) I didn’t want you to think I was having a go at your post. It’s a good deal.
