    • that is with synthetics hence cheaper, the one in the post is natural.

The skin is the largest organ and very fast absorbing. I use natural organic sunscreen.

It's more natural to not use sunscreen

  • is it cancer council approved

    • Hi DU99,

Cancer Council has its own brand of sunscreen, but all sunscreens in Australia must be tested to the same standards and be listed with the TGA.

      Warm regards,
      - Nourished Life Team

    • Agreed, Cancer council is just a company name to sell products.
Exactly the same McDonalds did with the Angus meat name.

  • Is it reef friendly?

      Hi OhPee,

Oxybenzone and octinoxate are the two chemicals recently banned in Hawaii and are believed to cause coral bleaching. This sunscreen does not include these chemicals. It is also best to avoid mineral oil, which can take some years to biodegrade, and are known to be harmful to sea life (this sunscreen does not contain any mineral oil).

      Warm regards,
      - Nourished Life Team

  • Where do you source your Zincite from?
Of course whether natural or synthetic, it's still the same chemical compound, so don't fall foe that "it's natural, so it must be better" b.s.. Although the "natural" stuff tends to have other chemical compounds too, so may e it's not as healthy as the lab grown crystals.

    Zinc Ozide is wonderful stuff

it is widely used as an additive in numerous materials and products including rubbers, plastics, ceramics, glass, cement, lubricants,[10] paints, ointments, adhesives, sealants, pigments, foods, batteries, ferrites, fire retardants, and first-aid tapes.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinc_oxide

Perfect for rubbing on your skin.

    • Hi Supabrudda,

The TGA concludes that "On current evidence, neither TiO2 nor ZnO [Zinc Oxide] NPs are likely to cause harm when used as ingredients in sunscreens. The current state of knowledge strongly indicates that the minor risks potentially associated with NPs in sunscreens are vastly outweighed by the benefits that NP-containing sunscreens afford against skin damage and, importantly, skin cancer."

The main risk has been associated with Zinc Oxide being inhaled. In the case of the Life Basics sunscreen, the risk of inhalation is reduced (not eliminated) as it is in liquid form.

      Warm regards,
