For all the kitchenaid lovers, this is a must for your kitchen.
Comes in White
An alternative would be this Kenwood which is my preferred brand of choice KVL6300S

Sorry to hear that bud. Maybe it's not too late to sell it and get a Kenwood??? No doubt the KA has the "Look" for the kitchen counter and a conversation starter for guess visiting. Kitchenaid back in the days are good but quality these days are just very questionable. Either you get lucky or you don't.
I've had the complete opposite experience and have loved mine. It wasn't something I ever would have bought for myself but received one as a wedding present and it has been brilliant. I've had no issues with unmixed ingredients at the bottom of the bowl and it has powered through mixing and kneading some quite thick doughs. I bought the 3 pack of pasta cutter attachments and really enjoy those too.
I don't have this lift up model however, so perhaps there is a difference there.
Good to hear a positive experience in the thread. From what i read in the web, the outcome is either they loved it to bits or the total opposite. A very mixed reactions. But anyways, keep on mixing and let the good food roll out of the kitchen :)
Hmm, tycho didn't actually mention which model of stand mixer.
I'd imagine it is probably the cheaper mini version, which looks like the artisan version in photos and can be easily mistaken.
Also, if tycho bought it off eBay, it may have been a counterfeit…
It's this model, bought from Peter's of Kensington so I doubt it's a fake.
Maybe we got a bad one? Just my experience. I still use it a lot, so I guess one good thing is it hasn't broken yet.
I bought a KSM160 model and I had the same unmixed ingredients problem, had to turn a screw to lower the mixing head. No more problems.
You do have a different model though, so it may not work on yours? Try to find a way to bring the beaters closer to the bottom of the bowl.
@OkayFray: Good tip, thanks - will give it a go!
Thanks bud. Added to the title.
We have this model and have even used the ice cream bowl attachment. We've made bread, cookies, brownies and of course, chocolate ice cream so no complaints here.
Glad to hear another positive experience. Thanks for sharing.
Still comes up as $449 on my end?
I think the deal has passed now. I've post the KitchenAid KSM160 for a bit more with an extra bowl.
Okie dokie thanks!
We have the Kitchenaid and regret purchasing it every time we use it. Under powered, unbalanced and leaves lots of unmixed stuff at the bottom of the bowl, even with the 'scraper' attachment.
Looks good on your kitchen counter but that's about it.
