I have found that loans.com.au doesn't gets you to pay for the property valuation, but won't give you a copy of the report. When I contacted the property valuation company, they told me that I need to ask the bank/ financial institution directly, because they are their client.
Any way to obtain the report you paid for?
When applying for a home loan, does your bank/ financial institution give you a copy of the property valuation report?

They said to ask OzBargain?
Yes I did.
did you or the bank pay for the valuation report?
I paid.
The bank sent someone to do the property valuation when I applied for my loan. The guy showed up and asked me how much I was buying it for. I told him and he said that he'll just write $10k more (than the purchase price). I never saw the actual report nor did I care because it got approved after that.
The charge for the valuation was paid by me.

If anything, you can just ask the bank.
How long ago was that? Cos I find them quite conservative these days after the GFC.
In regards to ops question, you'll only get a copy if you pay for the appraisal.

It was only late last year. The valuer just took some measurements with the laser tape measure. I had a smoke with him and he left.
I guess I may want a copy of it if the loan didn't get approved as a result.
We got ours when we asked for it. They were supposed to charge $250 for it, but I don't remember them doing so. I could be wrong though, was a while ago…
I was never provided with a copy
100% accurate advice to follow:
The Bank is the client of the Valuer, not the Home Owner.
If the Bank chooses to give a copy to the Home Owner that's entirely up to them but they are certainly not obligated to.Just because the Bank then charges you for that valuation is besides the point. The Home Owner is NOT entitled to a copy of the valuation report.

Sounds AMA worthy!
I thought about it- but to be honest I don't have the time (I know it would be a popular topic of discussion) :).
Stingy
@brokenglish: With my time?!? Damn straight I am, I have very little of it!
And have you asked the bank/financial institution directly?
