This is the best price I've seen for the RODE Wireless Go mic.
It will give you much, much better audio than an on-camera mic if your subject is far away from the camera. Don't expect massive range from such a small unit though!
You can either use the built-in mic or connect a lav/tie clip mic to it.
It's US$199 on Amazon, which is about AUD$292 converted.
