My oldest cygnet is currently in Columbia and will be going to Cuba in a week. He wants to know if his Citibank Plus Debit Mastercard will work in Cuba, either as an ATM card or debit card in the shops or both. According to Citibank in Australia it works everywhere including Cuba. However even though the card is issued in Australia I suspect the Cubans view the card as American.
Has anyone been to Cuba recently and used or tried to use the card?

Had no issues using a UK Mastercard in Cuba in December 2017. Would have thought you'd be fine too
Tried my Citibank debit card in Cuba back in 2017, no go.
Ended up using Bankwest Debit Card.

Best to travel with cash USD, as the atm's do not always work.
If you change usd there they give you a terrible rate take euro or canadian instead
Absolutely. Even Mexican Pesos get a better rate than USD.
Was there in August it worked but only on the green/yellow atms sorry forgot name of it
