I've bought second-hand phones while within the original warranty period that had non-genuine parts. A bit of a headache to deal with if you end up wanting service at an Apple Store at a future date.You could also end up with a stolen iPhone that ends up with a blocked IMEI.

They have many hundreds of percent profit margin on each device but only shift a few units lowering inventory and staff costs.
Then they makes two thirds of all the mobile revenue from those few devices :p

Resale value of Apple not that good anymore due to the market flooded with so many phones, 50% off rrp within 12months seems pretty standard now

same will look at 2ndhand XS when needed, have no interest in paying new anymore prices are just a joke now
