Here is an interesting one. Mentioning it here, happy to read comments.
So I purchased a blender from Aldi about 2 weeks ago.
When blending it leaks a little, and I found it is leaking through the blade attachment.
I contact the warranty number on the card (which by the way is 1300 777 137, when calling, they identify themselves simply as the 'Service Centre'.
I thought it was interesting that while waiting to speak to a person, there was a recorded warning stating that if found language is used, the call will be terminated immediately. Not sure if this is a good introduction, as it gives the immediate impression that a lot of people must be angry with their products??
Anyhow, get through to a customer service person, and tell her the issue, and expect they will just send out the replacement piece - no such luck - they said they don't keep any replacement parts at all, and the only option is to return the product to Aldi, and get a refund.
You cant even buy replacement parts, and according to the rep, there are no similar products on the market elsewhere (by similar I mean cups/blades that are interchangeable).
It makes me think, then what is the point of offering a 3 year warranty?
If it was an item that Aldi keep in stock, it would be fine, but it is likely to only be a once a year offer.
So really, this arrangement is fine if you dont want the product so you can get a refund, but what about people that had purchased this item, and want to keep it despite minor faults occurring?
Grumble grumble grumble, but no swearing, so please dont disconnect me…….
You keep it or go to store for refund.
