  • Thanks OP. My old phone holder broke, so it's perfect timing.

  • I saw an identical one at Officeworks the other day under their own no-name brand for $6. I couldn't find it on their website but remember it because it looks exactly like the Cygnett one (I got 2x for $10 from JB back when the deal was on).

    • was it Cleanskin or J.Burrows? the Cleanskin one is $20 on their website….way overpriced for what it is.

      • I thought it was their own brand, Essentials? Or something similar?

  • I was thinking that 250g doesn't seem like much support for a mobile phone but my Huawei Nova 3e only weighs 145g (surprisingly) so it should hold most current phones as far as weight goes.

  • Do these magnetic mounts mess up the compass function within phones?

  • Thanks OP, got a new car this week and there's no where to store the phone - good timing.

  • These are really good have them on both of the cars I own and the phone grip on this is strong !!!!

  • Not sure if any better but I just ordered off EBay a RAXFLY Universal Phone Holder Clip Car Air Vent Magnetic Bracket for Phone for under $6.
I like the design and how it attaches to the vent.

  • Be careful with these. I bought one and yes the magnet was strong, too strong in fact. When pulling my phone off it took the whole thing off my air vent. It's not grippy enough onto the air vent itself. Unless you have thick blades to grip to. I have the Kmart version and it grips tight on the vent.

  • Can anyone recommend a non-magnetic phone mount?
I love using this magnetic mount, super convenient and simple to use, but my relative uses a flip case which doesn't work well with it

  • Does anyone have a good solution for having the thin metal plate in the back of your phone case to use the mount, but also being able to charge your phone on a wireless pad, without having to take the case (or plate) off each time you want to charge wirelessly?

You must obey the laws of physics, Jim

    • I've heard one alternative is to have a phone case in your car that you only use with the mount, while you use a different case without the metal plate during the rest of your day and at home

    • I've just sticky taped the metal plate to my phone case. You can take that off easily enough, and I do so quite often when switching between a magnetic setup and a quad lock (yes yes, I know I can just quad lock everything) :)

Picked two up. One for a golf (great fit) and one for a BMW (again perfect fit). Just make sure you fit at the bottom of the vent so it effectively rests on the bottom of the vent, thus giving better support.

In terms of use, these are great and have a little movement in them so you can angle the phone to you (a little bit)

Just note that the price on the shelf is still $9.95 but they do scan at $7.95. Great work OP.
