I own one by the way, very good camera. Please be mindful Sony lenses are expensive compared to Nikon and Canon lens equivalents

Only old DSLR lenses are cheaper, the Nikon and Canon mirrorless lenses are generally even more expensive than Sony

Mirrorless lenses from all manufacturers are expensive. However, you are getting newer designs and generally better optical performance.
hard disagree, there are plenty decades old lens designs that are still unrivalled to this day.
@diamondd: Old lenses can be good in most cases but very few if any that are decades old are "unrivaled" by new lens designs. I would be impressed if you can actually find a single example of a decades (plural) old lens design that is better than a new equivalent. In general newer lenses are better than old and most mirror less lenses are new.
