Disgusting advertising by Destination Roll, Mascot Sydney Next to Hong Ha. Is this even legal?

I'm not related to either business but I thought I should call out Destination roll for their rather distasteful signage:
https://ibb.co/F05hPBv

Context:
Hong Ha Bakery, Mascot - been around for 30 years - famous for Vietnamese bread rolls

Destination roll - a franchise that sells the same thing - Recently opened(?) next door to Hong HA goes and put out the signage above:
" You have been eating the same rolls for 40 years & nothing has changed. Do not waste your time & money! Our rolls are Bigger, Better & Tastier! …."

Is this sign even legal?

Isn't this the goal of advertising?

to lure you away from other competitors?

  • For an advertisement thats too long and boring. Other than that I don’t see any problem with it.

  • It's a free market. Welcome to capitalism.

As per Darwin, only those species who collaborated and improvised to overcome change survive.

    Running a business is brutal.

besides, it's food. if the food is good, the business will succeed. if the food is bad, doesn't matter if your sign was made out of gold.

That is a crappy A board though.

    never heard of destination roll.

    • Darwin? The survival of the fittest, Or those with the biggest guns?

  • Bold claim. I've ever been impressed with destination rolls in parra. One of the crispy pork rolls tasted stale.

    xcelrolls are far better.

    • Did you eat at Destination Roll?

    • you come across as being pathetic.

I really wonder why the Op cared enough to post this. Either they're offended because they're from Hong Ha, or they have nothing better to do.

If it's the former, I'm under the impression Hong Ha has nothing to worry about given they're still the ones with all the business even though prices have risen (although I do love how they introduced crackling pork!) and I'm still yet to see any customers at Destination Roll when I'm en route to Hong Ha.

Or if it's the latter, then… well I guess this is the internet.

    • they have crackling pork now ??? finally ! been asking them to add that menu for the last 7 years since I had em in Adelaide.

      • It’s. So. Good.

  • Hong Ha should have a sign next to it saying
"40 year old recipe, if it aint broke. dont fix it"

  • who else is clueless to what is going on in this post?

    • Is it some new age internet advertising for Hong Ha Bakery, Mascot lol :)

Disgusting post by darkvwilly about Destination Roll, Mascot Sydney Next to Hong Ha on OzBargain. Is this even legal?

And can I start a new forum topic about it?

I'm not associated with any of the parties.

  • People will complain about anything these days. Get another hobby OP, finding fault in every little thing in life isn't a great way to be. I don't actually see the problem FWIW.

  • Seems the poster takes his airport meals very seriously. get over it.

  • I think a snowflake is having a meltdown.
