New Mazda CX3 - Buy Now or Next Month?

I'm looking at purchasing a new Mazda CX3. Wanted to check if people think I'm better off to wait until next month as it's end of year, or just get now.

Why not wait until January and get one of those 'last years model at reduced price' sales.

And then come back here and make a post complaining how you bought a car in 2020 and it has 2019 build plate on it. Act all outraged and demand a refund.

Or buy now and come back in a month or two and start a thread about how someone else got a better deal and you want that money back or you’ll return the car.

  • Seems it doesn't matter whether it is EOFY or EOCY or tax return time.

Suggest, set your (price) target and aim for it.

Have you driven one? How about sat in one? They are hilariously tiny. Placing 2 adults in the backseat for more than a 10 minute drive should be a crime.

Yes it's really only 2 adults using the car and the odd dropping off kids as they all have their license now.

      Mazda 2 with higher suspension.

Such an awful car for the price.

      • I don't know who got the "SUV hatchback" American fad to work in Australia but they must be a billionaire now.

I am a master Mazda negotiator. Whatever price you get, I can get better :)
Do your negotiation and hit me up.

  • There's always the potential of a better deal the longer you wait. But IMO unless there's a significant new model coming or something like that worth waiting for, just buy when you need it. But go in with a target price in mind and bargain hard for it.

FYI Japanese financial year is April-March so I'm not sure that the end of calendar year has any significant sales for Mazda…

  • You should try motorscout to find prices. It has great reviews and pretty good in my opinion.

  • Doesn’t really matter too much on the month, however I find December, jan and June the best

The biggest tip is go in the last 5 days of the month

The sales rep that is most pushy to make the sale hasn’t hit their sales commissions so they will be pretty desperate for a deal

Do some research on market prices and go in with a max 15-20% off their advertised price - not the rrp which is a bullshit price no one sticks to

Some brands have more margin than others (euros have more margins even if the pretend they don’t) but in saying that so do the Japanese cars

Eg I got my BIL a cracking deal on a 2019 triton black edition. No dealer near us would go to $30k including the cover for the back and I had one dealer say it was below their cost (full of crap) on a demo car. Ended going to another dealer in castle hill, got a brand new model for that price we wanted.

Go to a few dealers, make some offers and see what they say. It’s in your hands, just walk away if they won’t budge. Their loss
