just got my new mb and ryzen. ran into the usb issue and couldnt use mouse, figured out how to install the usb drivers with just keyboard and learned ryzen isnt supported on win 7. is there any win 7 users here? is there noticeably performance difference between win 7 and 10? i really dont want to use win 10 not even the free version.

lol not planning on using this pc for long, just a temp replacement for my broken one (somehow broke mb while cleaning dust of cpu fans and other things… didn't even touch the mb). i just dont want the constant forced non security updates and many other issues i've read about win 10. want to wait for as long as possible. i dont go on naughty websites anyway, dont download random stuff, no torrenting.
Just install Windows 10, don't even activate it if you aren't planning on using it for long, and turn off automatic updates and notifications.
Just google/youtube some walkthroughs and remove the Microsoft and Apps from spying on your use.
Ryzen isn't good with any older versions of Windows, even Linux distros and Hackintosh has its issues.
What's wrong with Windows 10?
Windows 7 is crap. Just upgrade.
ust dont want the constant forced non security updates
So set an update timeframe of like 2am to 6am when you're not using it.
many other issues i've read about win 10
Such as what? I've enjoyed 10 moreso than any previous version since XP. It's fast, it's sleek and it's a free upgrade as well.
Windows 7 will be officially not supported in early 2020?
yes? no? yes
Why not Windows 8.1? It doesn't have as much telemetry and at least won't be end of life and still get security updates for some time yet.
LOL.
maybe just use windows 10 instead of crippling yourself by using a dead os
When your hardware drivers or firmware / microcode updates do not work or are partially incompatible with Windows 7, chances are you will experience issues that will not only cripple performance (both CPU and GPU), but you might also have unpatched security loopholes & OS stability issues (eg WHEA errors).
Basically by sticking with an operating system that is already 10 years old, you might actually be choosing a slightly more problematic option
You may be forced to used Windows 10 eventually anyway as there's no guarantee that future versions of commonly used software / games / or even hardware will continue to support Windows 7.
