Sony WF1000XM3 Call Quality

Hey guys

Currently thinking about upgrading my airpod to either the new Sony ANC earbuds or the powerbeats.

Sony I can get it through work for about 250 and I think I can get jb hifi to bring it down 250 for the powerbeats too.

I will be listening to music most of the time in the gym and sometimes in the office.

Call quality is a big thing for me as I need it for calling my clients.

I almost got the WF but I heard the call quality is extremely bad.

Can someone please verify this? And how does call quality sound on the powerbeats?

Thx

Edit : thx guys going with either airpods or powerbeats pro

    Sony WF1000XM3 call quality

I own some and its poor. Everything else about these headphones is great, but the mic setup is poor and the call quality for the other end will notice you're on the XM3s and will complain you are soft etc.

Reviews back this claim up, I was hoping the reviews had been playing up the only neg side of these units as part of a balanced review, but sadly no, the call quality is the weakest point of a otherwise excellent setup.

Waiting for the release of the Jabra Elite 75t for this exact reason. Mid-November allegedly for 'selected countries'….

    • Do you know if there is any more information on a release date for the 75t?
I was considering getting the 65t but my main issues with it was the case (lack of usb C and magnet to hold the buds).
Looks like they have fixed those for the 75t.

I can't find much online in regards to an Australia release date. Can preorder at Harvey Norman but hoping to get from JB Hi Fi as i have some vouchers.

      • Nothing useful I'm afraid. Realised they can only be used one at a time with right side only so I'm leaning towards the Airpod Pros now.

Yep I have some and every time I've attempted a phone call the other party says they can't understand me and I sound like I'm in a tunnel. The ANC has issues with wind noise too.

Shame, because the music quality is fantastic.

If call quality is important to you, Airpods or Airpods Pro are the best game in town.

Apparently depends on battery charge, the last time I used mine to call on full charge, the other person could hear me clearly, but if I were to call on a low charge, my voice would either be muffled or too soft…or it could have been the wind that affected the call I had during the low charge….

As others have touched on, AirPods (1/2/Pro) will have superior call quality by nature of the design. Any wireless earbuds that don't have a protrusion like the AirPods will have poorer microphone quality simply because its further from the source of your voice. An exception may be with bone conduction tech, but I don't think any wireless headphones use that.
