Best heater for a small room ?

Hello friends,

At present we have a 4-5 years old ELECTRIC HEATER. We are thinking to change it now. So I am looking your comments on which type of heater is best for a small size bedroom considering low power consumption ?

My understanding is , Oil heater consumes high power, correct ?
I been to Bing Lee and they suggested us 'Micathermic Heaters' – Omega Altise 1500W (around 129$)

Please help me in deciding the best heater suitable for a small size bedroom considering low power consumption. Also, do you think 'Micathermic Heaters' – Omega Altise is the best one?

Thanks

The lowest power consumption is by using a reverse cycle air conditioner in heating mode. But if it's the portable type, you require a window opening to dispose of the cold air. They are also noisy.

    • The electric heater we have does not heat the room, its just heating very close area. We live in rented unit and moreover plan it to live here (Sydney) for next 2-3 years (may be) then back to Melbourne so changing insulation/blinds/getting Air Con is not a real option for us.

  • Redheads?

    • lol, would have to be a VERY small room.

  • big omega altise here….. $79
might be a bit too big for your needs…..

Windows, doors etc draught free????. First place to start before considering any heating.
Aircon is the best/cheapest if used corretly.
Make sure whatever you get has a thermostat.
