I just picked up a Gen 5 on the weekend from the trade in deal, well worth it imo.
I spent an extra $35 and got the $234 Gen 4 Explorist. Not a great colour, but I'll make do.
Gen 4 adds NFC, swim proof, heart rate monitor, GPS. Loses QI charging which would have been nice.
Gen 5 adds a speaker, iphone support, and 1GB RAM for an apparently much more pleasant experience.
Couldn't quite justify the $4-500 for the much nicer Gen 5 Carlyle.
ETA: Actually, I'm just going to post that Gen 4 deal.
Gen 5's look like a good watch. I've had the Gen 4 since they were released, it's been ok but the faster processor and more RAM certainly wouldn't have gone astray.
Just be aware, these are the Fossil Gen 3 models. The new Gen 5 models have just been released. So this is mostly a very old stock clearance. Good price overall, but the tech is dated.
