    Nioh!!!

  • Wasn't a fan of Nioh, love the DS/BB franchise but Nioh felt spammy and more luck at times with some bosses. I quit after beating boat boss.

    • +1

Huh, maybe give it another go, 'boat boss' is the first boss of the first stage so you didn't really give it a fair chance. I enjoyed it more than Sekiro and I still love that too

      • Yeah I didn't like Sekiro either, maybe it's the feudal Japan thing. The setting does nothing for me, I find it dull. I recall there being a mini boss before that, in a room on fire? Maybe I'm getting games mixed up though.

    • I played nioh straight after finishing bloodborne and struggled adapting.

After persisting for a while I started relying on blocking moreso. From then on the game because a lot easier.

I thoroughly enjoyed it once I got into it. The loot system is fun and the ability to replay boss missions was refreshing.

  • The outlast games causes too much anxiety. Didn't like it that much when I bought the 1-3 collection

    • +11

it's called a horror game for a reason. it does its job.

      • Also, @eyzonme might be thinking of a different game considering there is only 2 Outlast games.

        • He may also be thinking of Outlast: Whistleblower which is the first one's DLC.

  • You have got to be joking. I bought Nioh last night.

Going to sell it as soon as it arrives.

    • Probably could call and cancel if its not shipped yet

Never buy a PlayStation game at the end of the month.

      • Never? Not even new releases like Death Stranding?

        • +13

          NEVER

        • Never, EVER buy backpack simulators at that point in the month.

    • Oh you should have bought lottery instead.

As a Dark Souls fan, I thought Nioh was an amazing game

    • Harder or easier? Whilst I like a challenge, I also don’t want to break my thumb and or controller.

      • +1

Pretty different sort of challenge. I think it's harder at first but once you level up a bit and get a few decent weapons it becomes pretty easy. The weapon progression is much more RPG-like (i.e. random loot).

There is one extremely difficult lightning lion boss but apart from that the game is pretty breezy.

      • It's tough but you can overpower and almost cheat really with your magic powers.

I got the plat trophy in Nioh and Bloodborne and found Nioh much easier.

Great game with awesome fighting and some cool designs for enemies. Sort of a Diablo type loot system as well. Oh and levels rather than a big branching world.

        • I liked bloodborne until you had to worked out some puzzle as well as fend of NPC. That's when I threw in the towel..

I am a simple guy, do puzzle or kill shit.. not both!

          • @PuppieWayne: I can't remember a puzzle in Bloodborne? Maybe I got lucky there.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Sorry.. wasn't so much a puzzle but a 'maze' level where you got to find out the right path to take while million of spawns try to kill you..

      • I found it harder. I was playing with Cheat Engine on PC and still got stuck one one of the bosses.

I wish I was still a teenager with lightening reactions :(

      • I struggled with some of the optional bosses, but you can co-op them which made any challenge a breeze. I personally found Nioh easier than any of the SoulsBorne titles.

      • Maybe spend the money on anger management therapy instead.

      • Some bosses can be tricky, especially using melee - which is what I prefer. But if you can clock the DS games, it will give you a good base to beat this game. If you're coming from FPS games, then it could be a frustrating challenge

    • Nioh was ok, but Nioh 2 coming up in March is amazing! There is open beta between Nov 1-10

  • +2

Nioh is a very good game, I sunk a lot of hours into it a few years ago. However if you’re playing it after playing Sekiro, personally I think one will find it to be much less polished.
Outlast 2 is pretty creepy. Preferred the original, but the 2nd is still worth checking out.
    Another solid month of offerings.

  • Hoping with Black Friday, we'll see a PS+ sale as usual and then I'll grab that, and these.

  • +2

Any good 12 month ps plus subscription deals around? Been meaning to renew but not keen on paying $80

    • F

    • They usually have massive discount deal during Christmas or Easter.

  • Dumb question I know, but I already own a copy of Nioh (as yet unfinished). If I sell it and download the PS+ version, my game saves will still work right?

    • +2

      Yes

    • I'd wait and check that…

      • +1 to waiting.

I had a physical copy of bloodborne, which I traded in after obtaining a digital copy via PS Plus. I hadn’t tested it prior to trading in the physical copy, and came to find out that my saves did not work. Rendered useless.

        Worth being patient.

    • +1

You can delete the game "application" without affecting the save. So you can delete your current one then download from your library and can run the game as usual.

  • Any idea when these games are available to download?.. it's the 5th now and I still can't get them.

Really want to start the download of Nioh so it will be there when I get back from dinner.

    • It’s usually 9pm.

  • opens all lights
puts on pictures of puppies and rainbows on second screen
    *ok, ready for outlast *

    • I played it again recently with surround sound, holy balls it can get scary!

    • I tried and and go violently motion sickness. :(

  • Nioh is a fair dark souls clone. Mechanics different enough to make it fresh, though they got a bit lazy with some of the ways of adding difficulty

  • Xbox Live and psplus are a but of a joke compared to gamepass.

    • +1

Fair call, did you mean Games for Gold?

I'm still scratching my head wondering who is out there actually paying for Outer Worlds or Gears 5 when you can play them for about $5 a month.

So rapt with the value of gamepass. I'd happily pay about $15 a month for the vanilla version of all new release games and maybe kick in dollars on top of that for DLC for games I really like.

Games are now LIVE in the PS Store
