Good price +1, half decent for a cheap filler, but IMO Quorn doesn't rate too well amongst the plenty of varieties of vegan meats out there these days.
Thanks, When you say it doesn't rate, is that personal preference or nutritionally/healthwise? just interested as it's my favourite for pretend meat and one of the only ones i can get the kids to eat.
I just think there are much better tasting options out there. Each to their own.
I only bring it up because I hate it when people try something new like Quorn, aren't impressed and then go "All this vegan stuff tastes like crap." That's like never having coffee, trying International Roast and then saying "All coffee tastes like crap."
sweet, just making sure i didn't miss any news that this stuff gives you super cancer etc. Quorn seems to just taste like whatever they flavour it as. I reckon the nuggets taste the same as regular cheap nuggets (probably same amount of chicken in both). Agree there's better out there but they eat this so…
do it include bobs
The nuggets and Schnitzels are OK and the mince makes an easy replacement for beef mince when making tacos, but, overall, you are correct.
I find that Quorn isn't very filling compared to other vegan options.
Just like most of these products, they try to make it taste like meat. Which, when you’ve been vegetarian for decades, is the last thing you want. If I wanted something that tastes like meat, I’d eat meat.
Most long-standing vegetarians are going to strongly prefer something like a chickpea pattie.
I know vegans of 30 years, also people who only ate vegan since conception, that love the latest plant based meats.
I'm not a fan of the latest "try to taste like actual cattle flesh" meats but the reason I don't rate Quorn is for completely different reasons - to me it has a musty taste and the texture is sometimes paste-like rather.
All vegans I know don’t give a toss what ingredients are as long as it’s not a slaughtered beast.
The mince is a great filler for spagbol. I don't enjoy the other Quorn products
All right, time to stock up on sausage rolls!
Edible Mold. Not sure if much has changed, but beware
I mean, camembert, roquefort, penicillin etc are all edible molds too. What's the problem?
Be aware if you have allergies to mold i guess.
If they removed all the cheese, and just sold the mould, they might notice a downturn in sales ;)
Its a problem for some. Thats why said beware. Never said that you shouldnt eat.
Can’t wait for mince meat to display the warning “contains feces”
Cheers OP! Will give this brand a go.
Try the mince. I fooled my heavily meat-eating relative into thinking it was real meat when I made pasta.
Thanks! I'll do that with the spag bol.
Great deal! I love Quorn's vegan varieties. Only their schnitzel comes short compared to Fry's ones.
I've used quorn on and off for many years, i think it's quite nice! My husband had no idea it was meat free mince when i cooked it for us when we were dating so it definitely passes as meat 😂
Half price, and I still wouldn't eat them, maybe at 80% off I would buy them for my neighbours dog. Quorn is, in my opinion, barely edible food. Much nicer stuff out there.
How long has your neighbours dog been vegan?
lol
Quite some time, though after eating these it might change its mind ;)
Kids liked the sausage last better than veggie delights , sausages not on special though
1/2 price seems to apply to all frozen Quorn products. https://shop.coles.com.au/a/a-national/everything/search/quo…
