Garmin Fenix 6 Sapphire Silver $949 Delivered @ The Iconic

51

Only silver model is available at this price. It's probably the cheapest I have seen so far.
Combine with cashrewards and first time buyer coupon ($20) to make it even cheaper, I guess?

  • They don't list the part number, but the pictures and the pricing would lead me to believe that this is actually the non sapphire basic unit (No maps/music/wifi) PART NUMBER 010-02158-00 so be careful. I don't think Garmin make a silver sapphire version, only a black and titanium. (Full disclaimer I work for a competitor.)

  • This is the official Garmin link if it helps. Original price is $949 and is the standard Fenix 6 variant as mentioned by @RohanWoods. https://buy.garmin.com/en-AU/AU/p/641449/pn/010-02158-00

With the speed of development of smart watches at the moment l, this will all but be obsolete in 18 months….a big investment for such a short life cycle.

    • In Garmin's defence, they have strong support for their smartwatches and are made to last. I still have my fenix 3 that continues to get updates and still going strong after good 4 years of often reckless use.
Fenix range is aimed at a specific market (triathletes, climbers etc.) where battery life and extensive training stats trump other 'smart' features hence the price tag I guess.

Impressive that its still being supported. Has the battery life diminished much?

        • It used to last me about 2 weeks, now I charge it once a week with around 25% battery remaining. Can't complain really

          • @yeahitshot: Impressive. If you owned a galaxy of the same age you wouldn't get through the day.

      • I’ve heard their software support really sucks though.

Not the cheapest price, hence the neg, but it's still not worth ~$1000 unless it has at least 8GB RAM, an octa-core processor and a fancy camera, like the $1000+ phones have.

  • Based on my research on Garmin website, all 'Sapphire' editions of fenix 6 have music, maps and wifi by default. Which will make this a great deal.
However, the Sapphire edition do not seem to have a silver / black version so it's likely a typo in the iconic website - hard to say which way.
