Humble Monthly to Become Humble Choice (New Pricing Tiers and Benefits)

It appears Humble Monthly is changing. The new service includes adding some new perks and different pricing tiers and allowing you to choose games from a selection.
The new service includes the "Humble Trove" which allow access to a number of DRM-free games (currently at 90+ games).
Instead of being given games, you will have a selection from 10 games a month with the number of games allowed depending on your subscription level.

Once launched the three tiers will be:
Lite: ($4.99/month or $44.99/year) includes access Humble Trove (no games to keep) + 10% Humble Store Discount
Basic: ($14.99/month or $134.99/year) includes access to Humble Trove and 3 games to keep per month + 10% Humble Store Discount
Premium: ($19.99/month or $179.99/year) includes access to Humble Trove and 9 games to keep per month + 20% Humble Store Discount
Prices in USD

There is also the "Classic Tier" which is available only to subscribers to Humble Monthly at the time of launch of Humble Choice.
This tier will have access to all 10 games a month and includes the same perks as Premium but will still cost $12/month. If you ever unsubscribe after the launch of Humble Choice, you'll lose access to this tier forever.

  • I've never been a subscriber to the Humble Monthly but I am considering it to get the Classier Tier. This month's bundle looks pretty good though I already have COD WWII on PC

    • You'll make $5 of CoD.

Seems like a downgrade from the current system. Might have to sub more so I don't get kicked off

I like the idea of choosing the games but it's priced too expensive. Maybe if the Basic Tier was priced at like $5-8/month I'd be interested.

^ yep downgrade. Epic games launcher has us covered for the trove library (games we're never going to play) and spending $20 a month for 9 games is only creating a second trove of games. I dont think this will last a year. I hope I'm wrong and they can offer some great games consistently. Ive got 2 monthlys in the last 2 years, the rest is paused subscriptions.

    Thanks for the news

I doubt the games are going to change very much. It's always a mix from indies to AAA titles and I believe they're sticking to this.
But this is why I like the idea of the basic tier, I'll probably only ever be interested in 3 of the games. But at it's current pricing - nope!

    Humble Bundle becoming less humble.

So basically you're better off with the current $12pm plan. I'd rather get the basic plan and get to choose 1 game because there is really ever only 1 or 2 that I want to play.

Wonder if they'll have better games since they're changing the structure. This month has been the best in a long while.

  • Currently already subscribed. No matter how you slice it the value is incredible and absolutely worth it even if you don't like all the games you get. It's the price of one trip to the damn cinema.

    • Following the analogy, paying for a trip to the cinema doesn't help if you don't actually go in and watch the movie. I'm getting less and less time to game and fall into the same games where I can multiplayer with friends. If you're going to actually play 1-2 games/bundle then at USD6/game sure you've covered yourself. If you play 1 game per year (12 monthly bundles) then your cost of $144USD per game probably not.

  • So this is basically their way to get us to stay subbed rather than picking and choosing (pausing)

    • So pausing kicks you out of the Classic as well? That wasn't clear to me.

        It does not.
