Hi all
I have Toyota Kluger 2012 model and I haven't been able to polish it myself regularly, probably because of hand polishing an SUV being effort-intensive activity. Hence I am looking for some recommendations for tools or tips to polish the car regularly at home? Any tools or equipment I need to get to make it easy atleast once every 3 months?
Thanks

Ummm, are you sure you want to polish it every 3 months? If you are, then you can check out some polishing packages out there:
Have you researched this topic at all? Watched any youtube vids? There's a plethora of information already out there without the need to repeat it here just for you.
I'm going to assume given you haven't yet polished that it needs a bit of TLC but equally you're after a low-intensity routine.
Next time you wash:
- 2-bucket wash (look it up)
- Clay bar - this will remove contaminants from the paint
- Polish (using a cutting compound, this actually removes some of the clear coat)
- Wax (for protection)Ongoing:
- Fortnightly 2-bucket wash using a wax/wash 2-in-1 product (meguiars wash and wax is a good one)
- Monthly 2 bucket wash (using a standalone wash product like meguiars gold class) and wax application
- 6 monthly, add a polish between the wash and wax
- annually, add a clay bar between wash and polishNb don't work for meguiars but they are in a good sweet spot for value.
I take a very similar approach, however I opt for a one bucket wash once every 6 months.
It's an SUV right? Take it into the mud, get it looking like you've had some fun, it'll look better.
Otherwise just some liquid wash and wax every 6 months or whatever. Why do you need to polish so often?
I wouldn't use any abrasive polishes. Auto Glym Super Resin Polish is a must have in any garage and will cover up scratches and light marring without wearing your paint down. Then coat in your favourite wax, I like Bowden's Own Lazy Wax for ease of application. That's it.
because he doesn't know the difference between polish and wax/sealant.
To the OP. Have a look at Bowden's Own website. Lots of info.
Also Detail Paradise forums.
It might be worthwhile spending the money initially and getting the car professionally corrected and ceramic coated and then maintaining from there. It will save a lot of time and you'll need less materials for maintenance.
Apologies I wasn't sure about frequency as I don't get car polished often. Will go with once every 6 month
I'm assuming you mean apply wax? As polishing a car once every 3 months is too much. The process removes paint…
