Need Suggestion on Best Deal for Best Travel Pram

Hi,
We are planning to travel overseas with our 4 months baby bou.
We are looking for a travel pram or stroller. Any suggestions?

Points to note:
- Not looking for used one
- Must be within 7kg
- We already have steelcraft strider compact delux
- When is the best time to buy with best deal?

Some of the pram I have short down into:
- Phil&Teds Go
- Mountain Buggy Nano V2
- Baby Jogger City Tour V2
- GB Qbit+

Thanks.

  • We shortlisted to:
    Babyzen YOYO+
    Mountain Buggy Nano V2
    Bugaboo Ant

We ended going with the Bugaboo Ant even though it is 7.2kg.
    Pros:
Ability to have forward or rear facing seat
    Sturdy construction
    Folded up neatly
    Wheels are detachable

    Cons:
Slightly out of the cabin weight range for some airlines (7.2kg)
Folding and unfolding is more effort than the YOYO+ and nano

We have had no issues with carrying this pram onboard with multiple domestic and international flights. However, if you are worried about being over the cabin limit by 0.2kg, I would recommend the nano. It was our second choice. I liked the construction, feel and ease of use.

Baby bunting sometimes have 20% off all prams. This would cover the nano and ant. The YOYO+ is part of the exclusion list as it is classified as a “Best Buy” item.

    Good luck with your purchase.

    • Thanks for the suggestions. Ant looks very cool, but its out of my budget for a secondary travel pram. Might go for the nano 2 then :)

  • You won't be able to take a stroller on board.. most of the time you will roll the stroller to boarding gate where they will take the stroller and return it back to you either at the aircraft door or waiting lounge at you destination. All strollers baby seats are excluded from bagged limits.

    • we have a GB pockit which folds to 30×35×18cm and had no issues bringing it on board various airlines over the past few years.

It's been really handy as we can fold it and leave it under the seat on peak hour train rides or slide it under the table at restaurants.

      • How about GB QBIT+ ?

        • +1

We don't have the QBIT+ but watched the GB video and it looks like an improved version of the pockit! It's not as compact as the pockit but has more features.

    • We have been able to take our bugaboo ant onboard with no issues. Fits into the overhead compartment.

  • Whatever pram you get also get one of these- there are plenty on eBay - best $10 you'll spend on your holiday.

  • This city tour is a good deal from Amazon. It comes with a backpack style carry bag, which I think tour 2 doesn't.

Baby Jogger City Tour Compact Stroller, Cobalt https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01LZHSUJT

    • But it does not support 4 months old child. Only 6+ months :/

      • Ah my bad! Good luck with the search then. If you aren't fussy about second hand they come up regularly on Facebook marketplace and gumtree. I have w vague memory of the Nano V2 needing a cocoon or something that the V1 didn't need? Anyway hope the travel goes well!

        • U r correct. I think nano needs cocoon. Still will check he difference between v1 and v2

          • @Arrows: We just bought a city tour 2 for $370. Not many deals seem to come up on it since it's relatively new. Went for this because it's lightweight and super easy to fold and unfold and my wife will basically refuse to use anything that requires more than 2 steps to setup -_- We actually have a second-hand City elite and Steelcraft acclaim that we got for free that she refuses to use because they're so large and heavy, and in the case of the Steelcraft, too complex to figure out

The ability to use a capsule or carrycot is also a huge bonus since our baby is only 6 weeks

  • +1

Finally We bought Baby Jogger City Tour 2 … it is light had comes with a carry bag. We were able to take our pram on board in Singapore Airlines.
