  • Thanks OP.

  • Is gamersgate like steam? I don't want to have to install another platform, I already have steam and Impulse.

    • I think it is Games for Windows Live, last time I bought Batman and download the game files and cdkey from them.

I have Steam, Capsule, EADM & Games for Windows Live on my PC :p

      • The software doesn't bug me that much… it's more "oh geez, another website advertising specials for bargain games that I must buy and will never play"

    • GamersGate is a little like Steam. You have an account with them, and your games are tied to that account, but you don't have to use a special client on your PC like Steam. GG does offer a client, but I've never used it. Instead, you can download each game directly, which actually downloads a per-game installer; basically a single-target download manager with a password verification system. And you can keep the downloaded files after you've installed the game, sort of like a Steam backup (Just make sure you select the "Keep files for later" option after installation).

  • I'm enjoying this game so far, bought it on the recent steam sale. It is a pretty bad console port (few glitches here and there, and textures are pretty bland at points), but playability is not affected. The game itself has a fairly generic story, and by no means are the weapons balanced.

Its no Deus Ex or Mass Effect, but its a good FPS/RPG hybrid and well worth the $5.

  • For this download they use a program like 'Games for Windows Live', but it's their own program created by GamersGate. I like how they do it, easy.
