  • I got H4 150% more brightness from them, and it doesn't make that much difference. Is there another alternative that is brighter(Legally). The LED bulbs are not legal to put on my car

    • Check out iilumo.com local company as well.

    • What car? Does it use a reflector or projector?

      • Toyota Yaris, reflectors

Which one? The Philips and Osram are coiled tighter for extra brightness at the expense of life span.
Make sure your headlights are clear, any hazing/yellowing drastically reduces glare. Make sure your lights are aimed properly.
Besides that, not much you can do to increase performance. No, PnP LEDs are not an answer.

      • I got the Philips Racing vision 150%, no hazing and yellowing at all. They are properly aimed.

      • Im not sure more coils adds to brightness, do you have any reason to think that? My understanding is its all simple maths and physics… A x V = Watts. Xenon improved over Halogen, but given these are the same materials physics limits the light output ie tungsten and xenon. The simplest way to gain output is by over volting say an 11v globe to 12v. "running hot". Also explains the shorter life. Its a cheat that keeps the input values within generally acceptable worldwide design regs for road use, and produces more light.

OP …the Osram Nightbreakers (I have used several sets over the years of Nightbreaker Unlimited) are truly brighter in my headlights, and thats with several older cars. But lifespan is short so buy spares. Or use the silver version, these have a better life than the unlimited but are not quite as bright. The newer laser versions are brighter than the Unlimited, but I think has the same shorter life but I havent used a set of these versions. But theres a point they are too bright for oncoming traffic. I get flashed at times, not often but if the conditions are right, when on low beam.

        • Compared the bulbs myself, you can see the XV/NBU coils are tighter next to standard bulb. I'd say they've engineered it to be right on the upper limit of allowed variance. There's a whole thread on hidplanet forum about these bulbs if you want to do some trawling.

Usually lasts a month, and discounts vary between 15-25%

  • The LED tail lights say they aren't legal, does anyone know what the deal is with LED for tail lights, indicators etc?

    • +1

Not legal so install at your risk.
