Hi OzBargainers.
I currently have a Hikvision security system. I am looking to upgrade to a system that has PIR, Audio and 4K (if available). I was considering a Swann system yet the reviews are overwhelming negative for Swann security camera systems. Does anyone know of any other options or experiences with Swann camera systems. Thanks for your assistance.

The Hikvision I purchased back in 2013 has no audio, only motion detection which is set off constantly (lots of trees). Just want something reliable that alerts my phone etc.
Do not buy Swann! Cost us over 1k and the app doesn’t work outside the house!
I had no issues with the app. access it anywhere anytime

I use Swann it's good. What was the negative feedback in relation to?
They are just bigger, snobbish geese.
The reviews complained about the app, cameras etc. Their overall rating from approximately 120 feedback was 1.4/5. Most review sites from customers were negative.
Dahua and Hikvision are the recommended brands at IP cam forum.

My experience with swann is very negative. Do you know they host their software on dropbox? that call into question their security practice.
they have like a dozen iphone/android app, and most are not updated and you have to use the correct app for the camera [so you can't mix old and new]

Ubiquiti have a bunch of cameras that leave a lot to be desired in terms of features but they work and they have excellent software support. But not the cheapest. For the cost of one 4K camera of theirs, you could get 2-3 Dahua ones.

Have Swann with no probs with app while overseas for 2 months live or playback don't no what the fuss is about :/.
Android user (home safe view) video/sound.
4 cams full resolution cuts out sound now and then when standard video all good with sound.
Without sound full resolution perfect no probs.

I’m using hikvision and just upgraded a bunch of cameras as some of the new domes have audio capability now. Sound is clear.
Ive been looking at the Arlo systems recently, their ultra line supports 4k and has many feautres. Theres talk of arlo bettering their subscription free services for the ultra in the second half of 2019, no word yet though. my phone doesnt play 4k so im going with the pro 2 (comes with 7 days rolling cloud footage free)
