[VIC] Free General Admission Ticket to Zero Waste Festival With Donation at Entry @ St Kilda Town Hall

60

The Zero Waste Festival's aim is to provide people with ideas and skills, guiding sustainable habit change, sharing practical resources and connecting with community. This event will comprise inspiring presentations, information stalls, workshops, music, and more showing ways to creatively and economically reduce waste, rethink resource reuse, and to empower community focused environmental actions.

This event is the largest Zero Waste focused festival in Australia, and is supported by passionate Zero Waste Victoria volunteers.

Entry to the Festival is by donation, so we can keep it accessible for all. There are some ticketed events with a fee. Proceeds will support Zero Waste Victoria's endeavours to tackle the war on waste with a focus on education, research and advocacy campaigns.

The day will kick off with an in conversation discussion on "What is the formula for a Zero Waste city?” The panel will include Lauren and Oberon Carter, authors of "Zero Waste Families"; David Holmgren, co-originator of permaculture, author of a number of books, most recently, RetroSuburbia; The Downshifter Guide to a Resilient Future. With others to be announced soon. There will also be an audience Q&A. There is limited seating available for this presentation, so this is a ticketed event.

A clothes swap will be held from 11:30am to 1:30pm. If you would like to particiapte, purchase a clothes swap ticket and bring up to 10 items to swap and refresh your wardrobe. There will even be a Sustainable Styling session with Nina of Eco Style and Ana of Second Runway. More information in the ticketing section. This event is supported by The Clothing Exchange.

The day will be jam packed with workshops, activities and entertainment including Repair Cafe, plogging, workshops turning waste and preventing waste such as making dishclothes, mosaic art, clothing mending and much more

Full speaker details and program schedule plus the list of exhibitors, workshops and activities are listed at http://zerowastevictoria.org/zero-waste-festival/

Pretty sure a donation isn't classified as free.

  • Sounds like the “Free Beer with every $2 donation to the student society” we used to run at Uni…

  • Is the 'Ticket' to Zero Waste Festival printed on edible rice paper like those muffin toppers you eat when you're a kid?

    • +1

      Zero waste doesn't print anything

  • I support the event (went to one last week elsewhere) but I don't consider this a 'deal'.
There is no discount, and entry to the event was always on a 'donation' basis.
