It's a good deal, but it has been their standard price for years

      That's true.

I just repost it to make sure the cheapest Xbox controller deal stays on OzBargain (at least I think it's the cheapest one atm).

Plus I noticed that a mod must have expired my previous post, even after a mod updated it from "out of stock" to available (I guess reposting it is the only way to keep this deal "alive" on OzBargain other than marking it as permanent").

Ps. Usually, when it's reposted, it sells out pretty fast, so I guess there's quite a few people who don't know about it.

        No worries, awareness can't hurt!

Following on from OkayFray's comment. You can get it for $56.00 on eBay Plus from Futu Online:

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Microsoft-Xbox-One-S-Wireless-Bl…

20% off with the code PATRON20. Can confirm it works with XBox One and they ship with a signed courier. Should be free returns under eBay Plus though I haven't tried to return it.

    • Yes, but the $14.95 delivery fee kind of kills the deal (Umart have delivery fees, if I remember right, from about $5 to $11).

Which deal is better may go down to which one is cheaper after postage is added.

Plus I like that it's a brick and mortar store for refunds or replacement etc.

Ps. is the Futu controller a grey import?.

      • +1

Almost certainly. And I did remember feeling like my gamepad was repackaged (was just about to edit my comment to say that). Catch.com.au will do the same controller for $58.49 with the promo code PARADISE and may offer a shinier version:

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Microsoft-Xbox-One-Controller-US…

I kept the Futu controller because as soon I used it for one hour it was going to have my sweat (and possibly tears) on it anyway. It didn't feel used, it could have just been inspected, it could have been returned under eBay Plus, it could have been new but packaged with less strict requirements by a foreign Microsoft.

        • That Catch deal looks good at $75.43 delivered, if it's not a grey import.

But it doesn't come with the cable (although that won't matter to most people).

You could post it because it's a bit cheaper, unless you pick it up from Umart with no delivery fee.

If you don't want to post it, I might edit my post to give people a choice.

          Thanks.

          • @BooYa: It comes with cable.

            • @jamba: The one from Catch?

Never mind, I just checked, the controller from Catch eBay comes with the cable as well.

I'm not sure about imports though, especially from eBay.

I had to return a "Samsung" 512 Gig memory card I bought from a huge seller on eBay, only a few days ago, but I got a full refund from the seller (not eBay) so the seller knew what they were selling counterfeit cards by the thousands.

But, that's just me trying to make sure I wouldn't lose my photos or documents from a dodgy card, a controller I wouldn't mind so much as long as it worked.

I do prefer brick and mortar stores though.

Mainly because I've had to return a few electronic goods to them before - the Xbox controllers in particular (I got 2 faulty ones out of 3 - I had to replace the original one twice from EB Games).

So I'm more comfortable knowing that I can just get it replaced or refunded on the spot, instead of dealing with the seller or manufacturer by mail.

Ps. thanks for the tip about the cable though.

      • Delivery was changed to free for me shows as $56 delivered with voucher and free shipping https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Microsoft-Xbox-One-S-Wireless-Bl…

    • Also, I get this message on my phone browser:

"This code can't be applied. You can only use it via: computer browser, eBay app for iPhone, eBay app for Android, eBay app for iPad.".

Earlier today I was looking for a vacuum cleaner on eBay, and I tried to use the PATRON20 code, but got the same message (even though the page showed the item was eligible to use that code).

Looks like I'll have to install the eBay app to use the code for the vacuum.

I just hope they don't force people to use the app for all codes, because I really don't like that app.

      • Try the Catch.com.au eBay one. Also Futu provides the MPN 4N600003 which is the same as Umart. According to https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-au/windows-10-acces… it would appear to an Australian version so maybe I was wrong about the grey import call.

        • Yep, I might add it to this deal, unless you want to post a separate one.

          • @BooYa: Nup. I need to lay off the OzBargain at work. ;-)

            • @markathome: No worries mate, I'll edit it later today, when I have more time

Already got one from Kogan yesterday thru this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/491260

  • Are these the Bluetooth ones that can be used with Apple TV?

    • +1

They have Bluetooth, but I know nothing about Apple TV, my guess is that they can. Maybe someone can confirm?

Ps. this is what some people call the Xbox One S controller.

      • if its the xbox one s controller then yes it can be paired with apple tv.

        • Then you should be able to pair it with Apple TV, because this is the same model controller that first came out with the Xbox One S (hence the colloquial name for it became - Xbox One S controller).

      • yes.

Either the PS4 controller or the Xbox One S controller.

FYI there's a couple of older Xbox one controllers - the original, the original with a 3.5mm headphone jack, and then the Bluetooth version. There's also the elite v1 and v2 but from memory v1 doesn't have Bluetooth so wouldn't be compatible either.

  • I'm still waiting for a sale on the ones which have textured grips. I bought a red eddy one a while back (somewhere on OzBargain) from OzGameShop for about $60 delivered and it felt much nicer to hold/use vs. the standard smooth black finish on the normal controllers. It also doesn't seem to have a sticky DPad but that could've just been my individual original headphone controller (the one before they introduced bluetooth).

  • Got one. Thanks for sharing
