Appropriately named - a few years ago I bent down to look at a restaurant menu outside the Milan train station and I felt someone touching my backpack. The moment I turned back a few kids ran away.

    • ran away

… with your backpack or what?

      • +2

        luckily not!

But then in another occasion when I was in Bologna my backpack zip did get opened although nothing was stolen. Hence these bags are good for stopping that.

        • +12

          Ooooh traveler

  • +10

Yeah. These are not worth the "RRP" $119. They might be worth $19, but they really are not very good (speaking from experience).

If you want a quality anti-theft backpack, get a Pacsafe.

    • +2

Are they okay as a normal backpack? I tend to have a power bank with me when on holidays so the integrated USB port seems interesting.

      • +2

They work as advertised. Purchased one my self. The design makes it harder to unzip when it's in your back. Do not expect luxury feel and quality though. $19 is good price. The compartments on the inside does not work well for me and it's bit too small for travelling.

    • +20

why neg the OP? its a good deal $19

      • +3

yes, good for $19 as you don’t get much for back packs for $19, and the usb battery pouch function is good for those that want to top a phone and listen to music or game at the same time …..got mine with a brand at a conference.

        • +9

Look closer, $9.99 is a wallet, that link is $27.99 for the backpack.

        • +2

Nothing against you but when u select a bag, it shows 27.99.

      • +2

They are negging the deal. How do you get they are negging the OP personally.

    • Nfi about this bag, but agree the Pacsafes are awesome.

    • HTF did NinjaChicken's post get negged so much?
All he's saying is the RRP is BS and the bag is not good quality from experience.
The deal is shite get over it

Hi mate, you’ve made a few points now. Kogan has 75 reviews with an average 4 star rating; perhaps all reviewers got paid by Kogan to leave good reviews? Either way, people are smart enough to make up their mind if they want it or not and if they are happy eventually with it relative to the price they are paying/paid for it. You’re the one who needs to get over it now!

        • +2

No criticism against original product posted- I haven’t actually looked at the product in a huge amount of detail, so can’t/won’t comment on that… BUT I am pretty skeptical with Kogan ‘reviews’- a few months ago I ordered a couple of pairs of Haviana’s from Kogan. Literally before the sale had concluded, I was prompted to leave a review of how ‘great’ my product was. Then, I received another invitation to review less than 24hrs later (it hadn’t been dispatched yet 😕).

        • +4

          Kogan reviews lol

Please don't tell you believe reviews on the site that is selling the product being reviewed.

      • Isn't the RRP for most brand-name items inflated though? Why is this particular item/deal being singled out?

    • +1

Or by a Bobby, which this is a blatant rip off of

  • whats a 'Border security skeleton' ?

    • +8

Something Peter Dutton has in his closet

    • -1

It's a reptile stencil that looks cool on xrays.

  • +6

I don't believe in the practice of listing an rrp that noone is selling it as, but the deal price is good enough. These are reasonably small which is a plus to some people.

    • +1

Belief in it or not, having a higher number next to the actual price changes a percentage of people from thinking it's not a bargain to thinking it is a bargain. This is why vendors use it of course, it increases sales.

This happens automatically and unconsciously through a psychological effect known as the anchoring effect.

No individual can know if they have been effected but it is easy to demonstrate using groups.

Therefore listing RRPs is harmful to the site.

  • +9

    Rip off from XD Design.

  • It doesn't say whether it will fit 15 inch or not

  • Never bought anything from kogan, does it attract foreign transaction fees for credit card payment? Coz most their products are grey import?

    • +1

      no.

    • That's not how foreign transaction fees work.

  • -5

Can get on ebay for 25-30$

    • +19

      Can get here for $19.

      • +1

Lol, I think they're more commenting on the RRP, but such a great reply.

  • A pickpocket will cut your bag open with a razor blade if they really want to get inside it.

    • +5

Yea but this $19 cheapo bag will stop that. It's anti theft bro.

  • +12

I purchased one of these for my Europe trip list year. Zipper broke about 3 days in, quality and size of the bag isn't great, I wouldn't use it again.

  • -1

Didnt need one, but grabbed one anyway :) the ozb life! Thanks OP!

  • +2

so does this bag only work in Italy ?

    • Haha sì

  • +5

This just looks like a cheap knock off of the XD Design ones? Pretty sure you can get them for cheaper on Aliexpress really.

  • Just ordered this, first time purchase at Kogan. See how I go :)

    • +3

And you will regret. All Kogan brands are rubbish doesn't matter how cheap they are you will still end up feeling you paying too much.

      • Nah
I bought the airfryer and it was good.
I imagine for occasional use it'll be ok

  • Does it work?

    • I had a friend with one. They targeted them because they had this backpack thinking there was a laptop or something valuable. The group used a knife which cut open the bag fairly easily. The size is a bit small for travelling.

  • +8

Interestingly Choice just gave Kogan the 'Lemon Retailer of the Year' award for their inability to refund/replace faulty goods.

    • Maybe choice should ask for more opinions.

Took me 1 min looking at other threads to see others opinion that Kogan is easy to deal with in regards to refunds and replacements.

      • It took you half a second of looking at yesterday's thread and quoting two comments above one another. That's really not conclusive (and yes I know one of them is mine).

        • It still took me a few minutes to read the other comments leading on to yours.

And yes, a few comments are not conclusive, but shows there are real people who have no problems getting returns or replacements, choice often goes out finding people with problems for their stories, so it’s easy for them to find people who have problems too ( people with problems usually write reviews)

  • purchased one for my other half to kick around for the gym. if it breaks , its not the end. Costs only 4 medium coffees and I go through 12 a week.

    • +2

      12 boyfriends?

      • +1

12 gyms. Takes advantage of a lot of free trials, like a good ozbargainer.

  • +1

Another misleading, jacked up Kogan item..

    • Thanks for the investigation.

  • It looks like people get so stuck up on RRPs they can’t see a good price when it hits them in the nose. Like we’ve never seen rrps being high before, look at any clothing retailer for example.

  • +1

I reckon I could steal this.

    • +1

      Challenge accepted.
      Meet me at seaseme street.
I'll be the big birdie wearing the bag.

      • Come on that's cheating.

        • i had a friend who said that, now he's in a bin eating cookies

  • +1

the dimensions of the bag seem to suggest this will be a small backpack. similar views of the original xd bobby. so just be wary when you receive it and not expect a usual sized one, you should be fine

  • +1

Ordered yesterday and received this morning !
