Do you know anyone work for a bank at Financial Institutions Relationship Management Department?

Hi guys,

Do you happen to know someone in charge of relationship management with Financial Institutions at the banks?

How is working and dealing with financial institution clients like?

What are the pros and cons working in that department?

How to get that job?

I really want to work there.

I like to work with Financial Institution clients because the job gives me the opportunity to travel, to work with oversea banks or finance companie, to learn about other countries financial systems, their economy and culture which I love to do.

Could you please let me know which bank your friends work, what position?

Yes. Horrible, the atmosphere is toxic. No pros, only cons - depression, constant back stabbing, harassment, impossible kpis. Apply, send your resume in. Good luck!

My daughter worked in Customer Relations with one of the major Banks a few years ago. As far as fellow staff were involved it all depended on the type of people you are lumped in with. Some people are helpful and cheery, and some are back stabbing two faced a-holes! It's all just luck of the draw who you end up working with.

As far as Customers go, well let's face it 90% of people phoning or fronting bank support staff are there to complain, and a lot of people tend to have temper tantrums when things don't go their way!

My daughter couldn't wait to find another job, one that didn't involve resolving customer meltdowns!

    Good luck.

      Just like any other workplace.

      • You tend to have a less friendly work environment when competition for Commissions and Bonuses are involved, like at a Bank!

OP: Can you explain in more detail the actual job you want to do and why you really want to work in a bank?

In your explanation try not to make any references to high yielding $80k cars.

    • Just update reason why I like to work there. Do you know anyone work in the same position?

      • What is your education background? You'll need a business related degree at a minimum to try and get a job in where you are thinking. Have you considered the bank's graduate programs?

I graduated a long time ago with a degree in Finance. I got banking experience oversea but in marketing department instead.

          • @mitmiu: Your best route would be: Banking Marketing role with a big 4 bank -> Look to get into a entry level client services role in the area of the bank you want to work in (Be it Personal banking, Private Banking, Business, Corporate, Institutional, etc.) then from there learn the business and after 2 years try and get into a specialist sales role or relationship manager role. The further down the chain of the value of client, the easier it is to get a relationship manager job.

            Good luck!
