Option 1
6.6 kw system 20 panels
Goodwe 5kw + Trina 330w Honey plus Mono = 3175 AUD OR
Huawai 5kw +Trina 330w Honey plus Mono = 3575 AUD
Option 2
4.95 kw system 15 panels
Goodwe 5kw + Risen 330w Mono OR Seraphim 330w = 2500 AUD
All prices are my out of pocket costs after all rebates.
I have 3 quotes from two different installers.
The first installer initially said, my roof does not have enough space so 6.6kw is not possible. Later he came with above Option 1 quote by adding couple of panels on North-East direction.
The second installer straightway said, not possible for 6.6 and given 4.95kw option 2.
Mine is single story on 350sqm land in East Melbourne. Due to sky light and hot water solar, I have limited space on North roof.
With 2 adults and a kid, we get around 90AUD a month on electricity.
A) Now whom should I trust here regarding which system my roof supports ?
Obviously I would like to go for 6.6 because of all rebates and drama going on in Australia.
B) Also any suggestions on these inverters and panels please? I'm ready to spend bit more extra if I get peace of mind and better returns.
We got a quote for a 6 kw system, for our limited north facing roof, but the cost was much higher than yours.
We looked at the Sunpower Maxeon panels. With the Maxeon 3s we could get 6 kw from 15 panels and they are designed so partial shade doesn’t knock out a whole panel. You can get Sunpower to recommend a person to quote for you by going to their website. However, this isn’t a cheap option, just a way to maximise your available roof space.
